The North Face Hydrenalite Down Hoodie for a Warm and Cozy Winter

Purchased (Affiliate Links)

I grew up wearing down jackets from The North Face, and therefore when I decided that I needed a high quality down jacket to keep warm this winter, I knew that I wanted to get another one from this tried and true brand. I found a few online, but decided that I actually needed to go to the store to try them on. I tried on nearly every The North Face women's down jacket, and what I quickly discovered is that most of them were quite short– about waist height, or just a touch below. The others were quite long, and fell right below the knee. The lovely, and smart saleswoman at REI ushered us over to the men's section and said that if I was looking for a longer jacket that I should try on the men's jackets, and that was when I hit the jackpot! While the jacket that I selected, The North Face Hydrenalite Down Hoodie, is intended to fall just a little below the waist on men, it proved to be the perfect length on me. What I later discovered was that a lot of women purchase this men's jacket so that it is longer and keeps more of you warm. On me, it covers just above my outer-thighs and keeps me very warm. It is surprisingly lightweight for such a warm down jacket. It is a perfect down-filled hooded puffer jacket– with 600-fill– that also offers wet-weather protection.

According to The North Face,

Cold weather shouldn’t mean less time outdoors. That’s why we built the Men’s Hydrenalite™ Down Hoodie. Born to thrive where others hesitate, this bomber-inspired puffer redefines the boundaries between form and function. With 600-fill recycled down insulation and fully recycled, water-repellent fabric, you can easily transition between daily commutes and days off grid. Lightweight. Compressible. Protective. This jacket is made to get you out there.

This jacket is perfect for all genders.
