Derma E and Thinksport Sunscreen Picks

Now that the weather is warming up, and the summer months are here, it is time to make sure that we have enough sunscreen (that hasn't expired already). Here are a few noteworthy cruelty-free mineral sunscreens that the fine folks at Derma E recently sent my way. 

Derma E Vitamin C Weightless Moisturizer SPF 45 ($23.95 for 2 oz. from Derma E): This high SPF mineral sunscreen is one of my all-time favorite facial sunscreens.The stabilized Vitamin C brightens the complexion and vitamins B3 and E offer skin moisture while the Zinc Oxide protects the skin against the sun. It leaves behind no white residue, and not only does it play well with makeup, but it also works well as a primer. There is no real scent to this sunscreen.

It is fast absorbing, non-greasy and leaves behind no greasy or white residue. This is great for going to the beach, exercising outdoors and playing at the pool. There is a very light and sweet aroma that disappears quickly.

Overall Assessment: Wearing, and reapplying sunscreen frequently is essential, and so is staying hydrated during the summer months. The key is to avoid excessive exposure, reapply sunscreen frequently and to stay hydrated. Have fun!
