Erno Laszlo White Marble Dual Phase Vitamin C Peel Review

Purchased (Affiliate Links)

Erno Laszlo White Marble Dual Phase Vitamin C Peel was one of my recent Laszlo purchases, and I bought it completely sight unseen during their recent Friends & Family Sale. Normally I do not purchase products that I haven't extensively researched, or tested, first, but I love using peels so I decided to make the leap of faith, and I am glad that I did.

Erno Laszlo White Marble Dual Phase Vitamin C Peel is a gentle, and yet very effective, 2- part peel that exfoliates dead skin cells effortlessly, but without irritating the skin. This clarifying peel lightens hyperpigmentation through the inclusion of ingredients such as Vitamin C, and therefore it brightens the skin, and leaves it luminous. One of the features that makes this at-home-peel so wonderful to use is the fact that is easy to use, and it doesn't take a long time to do. It delivers real tangible results, and I noticed the difference after a single use.

Simply apply the Step 1 orange colored, and citrus scented, scrub to the skin and gently massage it into the skin for about 3 minutes, then add a full dropper the the Step 2 liquid activator to your skin and leave it on for about a minute. Rinse thoroughly, and say hello to soft, smooth, supple, exfoliated and luminous skin. After using it for about a month (once a week), I noticed that a small area of hyperpigmentation (from sun damage) was beginning to fade ever so slightly. I look forward to seeing how much it fades after a few more months of use.

According to Erno Laszlo,

Powered by super-nutrient Vitamin C, our clarifying two-step peel gently polishes skin as it fades the appearance of dark spots and discoloration.

Step 1 gently exfoliates. Step 2 activates brightening and moisturizing benefits. Protective antioxidants and collagen boosters found in this Vitamin C Peel work to refine and renew skin, defying signs of aging. Carrot Seed Oil balances dry skin, helping to fight age spots and sun damage. Vitamin C helps to reduce dark spots and dullness, lightening skin and jumpstarting collagen production.

Directions: Smooth peel (Step 1) over face, avoiding the eye area. Massage gently for up to 3 minutes. Mix the activator (Step 2) in your hands and massage into face, over the peel. After 1 minute, rinse thoroughly with warm water. Use weekly as part of your White Marble cleansing ritual. Formulated for all skin types.

Formulated Without: Phthalates, Parabens, Sulfates, Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, Urea, and Colorants.

Step 1 Ingredients: PEG-8, Sodium Bicarbonate, Butylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Silica, Polylactic Acid, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Seed Oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Beta Carotene (CI 40800), Parfum (Fragrance).

Step 2 Ingredients: Water (Aqua/Eau), Linoleamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Polyquaternium-10, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Polysorbate 20, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Trideceth-9, Sodium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Lactic Acid, Parfum (Fragrance), Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Limonene.

Overall Assessment: This was a great purchase for me, and I suspect that I will purchase it again once I finish it up. A+

  3. This sounds so easy. I have a dark spot that actually reappeared after finishing up previous lighteners. Once a week, citrus, sounds great to me. Now I have to wait for another Friends and Family sale.

    1. It is so easy, and completely fuss-free, Marcia! I highly recommend it. Some dark spots are pretty persistent, and are worth showing the doctor. I had one in my hairline on the left side of my face from so much driving, and my doctor removed it before it had a chance to ever turn into anything problematic.

  6. Hi! I am about to try this mask. What type of skin do you have? And what Fitzpatrick ? I’m a Fitzpatrick 4/5 with dry skin and lots of hyperpigmentation. Pretty sensitive and any blemish turns to a freckle. I have done a perfect peel LIGHT before with zero problems and also pumpkin enzyme peels. Do you think this will work or is it too abrasive? For example, Vasanti Exfoliator scrub made my face smooth but I broke out EVRRY TIME. I am wondering if it was the fragrance. It took a long time to rebuild my barrier after that. Thought maybe my skin was purging but I just think it was too much. Thoughts? Thanks!

    1. Hi! Thank you for taking the time to stop by! I have what would be best described as "normal to combination" skin. It's pretty balanced everywhere, but the T-Zone is more active. In terms of Fitzpatrick, I am somewhere right in-between a 3-4. I love how smooth this duo makes my skin feel, but the orange scrub portion definitely has exfoliating particles that I worry would bother your skin the way that the Vasanti Exfoliating Scrub did. The idea here is that you massage the orange exfoliator, that includes fragrance, into your skin for 3 minutes, and then you add a full dropper of the activator, and leave it on for about a minute and then rinse it clear. While I am not a dermatologist, I think that given your sensitivity and breakouts after Vasanti, that this might be too much for your skin, and likely too abrasive. If at all possible, it might be worth talking to your doctor, or see if you can get a referral to see a dermatologist and they might be able to evaluate your skin and suggest a gentle exfoliator that will be very kind to your skin and that will neither cause breakouts, nor compromise your skin barrier! It sounds as though you think that the exfoliating particles and fragrance could be part of the problem, and if that is the case, then I definitely think that you should save your heard-earned money and skip this one!
