As I noted yesterday, I hurt my foot removing a dead tree from my yard last weekend, and my Arnicare Bruise Relief (Reviewed HERE) prevented me from unsightly bruising, and the swelling was radically reduced by icing my foot. However, my foot still hurts because apparently it was hit harder than I realized. My sense of determination to finish the task at hand delayed my response to the injury that I sustained from the business end of a pick-ax.
Last night I switched to Boiron Arnicare Roll-On Pain Relief since there is no longer bruising or swelling to contend with, but just the pain at the site of the injury. Let me tell you, my foot hurts so much less. This roll on gel, that offers temporary pain relief, is lightweight, non-greasy, residue-free, fast-absorbing and odorless. It has a light and pleasant cooling effect on the skin, and really does a great job relieving pain. It goes without saying that you should consult with your doctor if you are injured, but my injury wasn't serious enough to warrant a trip to the doctor.
According to Boiron,
Boiron Arnicare Roll-on gel relieves muscle pain, stiffness, swelling from injuries, and bruises.* This homeopathic medicine made from a mountain daisy is odorless. The no-mess roll-on applicator keeps hands clean, making this non-greasy gel even more convenient to apply on-the-go.
Made with fresh mountain daisies (Arnica montana) from the French Alps, Boiron Arnicare Roll-on gel relieves everyday muscle aches and pains without a traditional strong medicine smell. Use it at the first sign of back, neck, knee, shoulder, and leg pain; stiffness; swelling from injuries; bruising; or after a surgery.* The no-mess roll-on applicator keeps hands clean, making this non-greasy gel even more convenient to apply on-the-go. The water-based gel cools and refreshes on contact. It is absorbed quickly by the skin, leaving no residue. As a homeopathic medicine it does not contain menthol, camphor, methyl salicylate, capsaicin, fragrances, dyes, or parabens. It won’t mask symptoms of a more serious condition.

Overall Assessment: This is another staple in my drawer filled with homeopathic remedies. A+
Wow, I am so sorry that you injured your foot with a pick-axe and dead tree! I am glad that it wasn't hurt even worse than it was. I am glad that this roll-on arnica is helping to manage the pain. I wish you a speedy recovery. I have either a roll-on or tube of arnica either from Boiron or another brand, and I wish I had remembered it. I lost my balance trying to clean out my overgrown Montauk Daisy plant, and I tried to right myself on my old wooden lamp post on my front lawn. I didn't realize that after 20 years, it was hanging on by a thread and it collapsed when I fell on it. In addition to the problem of finding an electrician to come and replace it, I got a small cut but a bad bruise that I didn't notice till later than night. Wish I had thought of arnica! Thanks for the excellent review.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Allison! It is actually healing up nicely, and it really could have been so much worse. Luckily at the time of the injury I was working very close to the ground and I wasn't using much force. It could have been catastrophic, but instead I just swelling and pain!
DeleteThis, or something like this, would have been perfect for your run-in with the overgrown Montauk Daisy plant! I keep all of these types of products together in a drawer that is easily accessed– because you just never know when you will need them! Arnica is absolutely amazing!
Roll on makes application easy and hands free of mess. I know ive used all these before, but im wondering if my mom has now...
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! The convenience and lack of mess is just superb! This is definitely worth having in your medicine cabinet, and your mom's as well!
DeleteOh I totally swear by Arnica for swelling and any kind of bruising injury, it truly is the best!
ReplyDeleteMe too, it is the best thing that I have used for those types of injuries!
DeleteOuch I'm so sorry to hear about your injury! Glad to hear that this roll-on is helping. My mom has been using arnica products on my sister and I when we were kids to help treat bruises and aches too, and I always remember that it worked pretty well for us.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anastasia. I was so lucky that it wasn't far more serious! It is so much better! Your mom and mine has the same idea, and it worked well for us, as well!
