Given that we have remained under a stay-at-home mandate, and have been engaged in the new normal of social distancing, I have sought to wean myself from the immersive experience of the daily news cycle. I read the important factual and scientific information to stay informed, I listen to Governor Gavin Newsom when he has updates, but other than that I am trying to be productive and calm. It is too easy to succumb to the reality that this pandemic is frightening and destabilizing, but if I only live in the space of an existential crisis, then I will be crippled with fear and stress all of the time.
Since I have been working from home I have not worn a stitch of makeup, and frankly I don't miss it, or the ritual in the least bit. What I have been enjoying, and relishing, are hot bubble baths and hot showers filled with beautifully aromatic body care products. Part of this was a way to soothe my sinuses and sinus headaches when I simultaneously had a head cold and seasonal allergies, but that soon gave way to a ritual that helped to keep me calm and grounded.
Therefore, rather than plotting my next purchase, I decided to indulge in some of my favorite products that have earned pride of place as staples in my body care collection.
Among my favorite indulgences is the REN Moroccan Rose Otto Collection. This elegantly aromatic collection is refined, and it embodies the perfectly perfumed rose. It is neither overpowering, nor sharp, but instead it is warm and luscious without any hint of chemical-laden artificiality. It is perfection.
REN Moroccan Rose Otto Body Wash ($30.00 for 6.8 oz. from REN, Sephora, Space NK, B-Glowing, Cult Beauty and Bloomingdale's): This is a soothing and delicately fragrances body wash that not only smells utterly delicious, but it also hydrates, soothes and thoroughly cleanses the skin. It is perfect in the shower or bath, and it is emollient enough to use for shaving your legs!

This is a truly covet-worthy body lotion, and I cannot sufficiently underscore the extent to which I love it.

Perfect for indulging in a peaceful, relaxing bath, Rose Otto Bath Oil’s exquisite, sensual scent is known for its stress relieving and soothing properties. Skin is left soft, supple, and moisturized to perfection.

I feel you. Today my husband and I detoxed from the news just to give ourselves a breather. Now I'm quite the opposite, I hardly wear makeup at work but now that I work from home, I suddenly felt the urge, haha!
ReplyDeleteI think that we are not alone in filing that way! It's not emotionally healthy to only focus on it alone! I hope that you are having fun playing with your makeup!
DeleteThe entire line sounds divine! Your first paragraph inspired me to shut off the news, and try to chill and get things done. Today was a tough one
ReplyDeleteIt really is divine and such a supreme pleasure to use! I am glad that I inspired you to turn off the news. I fully believe in staying informed and in doing everything we can to stop the spread of this horrific virus, but I also think that the non-stop newsfeed can create even more stress. Each day is tough and scary!
DeleteI had no idea REN makes bath oil! I would definitely give it a try, since I'm taking baths more often these days.
