I was so excited when the Makeup Wars Team decided to feature our favorite lipsticks because I have a single lipstick that I have been reaching for, almost exclusively, this summer. I have a penchant for nude pink lipsticks, and KJAER WEIS Lipstick in Honor is the one!
Finding the perfect nude pink lipstick is, without question, a considerable feat. Many nudes have a tendency to make the wearer look more like the queen of the zombie apocalypse, rather than chic and retro. As luck would have it, nude pinks are my Achilles heel, and as such I have tested and swatched many before finding a few against which all others are compared. My latest covet-worthy nude pink is KJAER WEIS Lipstick in Honor, and not only is it a stunning ultra-luxe lipstick, but it is also a green beauty brand that uses high quality natural ingredients, and doesn't use petroleum, parabens, artificial fragrance or petrochemical emulsifiers.
While I seldom spend much time dwelling on product packaging, because I am generally more concerned about what's inside, I have to say that this impressive sculptural lipstick tube is a weighty metal masterpiece. In fact, the only lipstick tube that is in its category, of chic minimalist design, is the Guerlain Rouge G lipstick tubes.
According to Kjaer Weis,Simple but not plain. Beautiful but always genuine. We love when things are done right, made right, and are built to last. In clothes we buy, in the food we eat, we are now able to be conscious about the products we use without having to compromise for quality. So why not beauty? Kjaer Weis is leading the movement with high-performing, luxury makeup that is, as everything should be, organic and sustainable.
KJAER WEIS Lipstick in Honor is described by Kirsten Kjaer Weis as a, "well-balanced nude with pink undertones"– which is an apt assessment. KJAER Weis suggests that this is best for pale to medium complexions, and that it was inspired by “the coy innocence of 60’s starlets like Brigitte Bardot and Jean Seberg...." It is, in my opinion, unmitigated nude pink perfection.
KJAER WEIS Lipstick in Honor is an ultra-pigmented lipstick with "a rich, semi-matte, velvet finish" that lends itself to full opaque coverage. The initial texture in the tube is a little drier than some lipsticks, but akin to certain matte formulas. However, this ingenious formula is activated by the warmth of the skin, and it melts into the lips beautifully. Honor glides across the lips without incident, deposits color evenly, and it neither settles into lip lines, nor does it migrate. It is very hydrating thanks to ingredients such as shea butter and jojoba oil, and the waxes, such as beeswax, account for its long wear-time. This lipstick formula has the right amount of cushion for comfortable wear, and while it has a light aroma in the tube there is no detectable taste.
Claims:
- A nude well-balanced with pink undertones, Honor works best with pale to medium dark skin tones
- A rich, semi-matte, velvet finish more opaque than Kjaer Weis Lip Tints
- Moisturizing, organic ingredients like shea butter and jojoba oil are activated with the warmth of your lips, keeping them smooth and drenched in color
- NO artificial ingredients, such as petroleum, parabens, artificial fragrance, petrochemical emulsifiers
- NOT tested on animals
- Gluten FREE
- This product is not vegan
As with all Kjaer Weis products, this lipstick is refillable.
KJAER WEIS Lipstick Honor
I swatched Honor next to, the now discontinued, Tom Ford Nude Vanille, and I prefer the color, finish and formula of KJAER WEIS Lipstick in Honor. While the colors are similar, Honor is more pink than the peachier pink Nude Vanille. Furthermore, KJAER WEIS is cruelty-free and organic, whereas Tom Ford Beauty is not.
Select Ingredients:Cera Alba (Beeswax): Naturally hydrophilic skin protectant
Jojoba Seed Oil: Natural moisturizer for the lips
Sweet Almond Oil: A natural emollient used to moisturize and promote skin elasticity
Rosa Rubiginosa Seed Oil: Minimizes scarring and signs of skin aging
Overall Assessment: KJAER WEIS Lipstick in Honor is unmitigated nude pink perfection, and it is my go-to lipstick this summer. I highly recommend this eco-luxury lipstick! A+

I've never heard of Kjaer Weis and I'm kicking myself! The lippies look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a beauty, Brooke?! I think that you would really love the formula too!
DeleteIt's funny, even before you mentioned that it was inspired by the 60s I totally thought it would have been a color perfect for Twiggy
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY!!!!!!!!! Twiggy came to mind for me as well- that perfect nude lipstick with that fabulous graphic eye makeup! Quintessential 60s makeup!
DeleteThat’s a gorgeous shade, Helen! I wish I could wear a pale peach nude like that. I remember you wrote about another product from this brand that really piqued my interest
ReplyDeleteIt is a really lovely shade, and it is definitely a must-have pinky-peachy nude for people who wear those shades! It's definitely a brand worth trying!
DeleteHonor is just my kind of shade!
ReplyDeleteMine too, Cindy! This shade would be gorgeous on you!
DeleteI think Honor looks prettier too!
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly agree! Plus it's cruelty-free and organic!
DeleteYou did this on purpose just to tempt me. You know I love the shades you do. I wrote about Axiology Interest which I bought after you reviewed it and now I'm going to need Honor! Beautiful. (and my Tom Ford went bad as did over half of the ones I bought from the brand)
ReplyDeleteHaha, we really are lipstick twins, Marcia! We have precisely the same taste is lipsticks, and you are as guilty of tempting me, as I am of tempting you! This one has your name all over it! A lot of my Tom Ford Lipsticks went rancid too– which is pretty irritating given that they cost $55.00 each! Interestingly though, I haven't seen anything from Tom Ford that has interested me in quite a while. That Axiolology shade the you featured– plus the Charlotte Tilbury Liv it Up are definitely on my list now!
DeleteI actually prefer Honor as well! I like that Kjaer Weis is refillable, that's actually really cool.
ReplyDeleteMe too, and actually I prefer everything about it from the finish, color and formula! It definitely helps that it is refillable so you don't have to spend so much each time!
DeleteI thought they were a skincare only brand! Honor looks like the perfect everyday lip colour for you!
ReplyDeleteThey actually make very lovely makeup! Yes, this is a perfect daily color for my complexion! They have other gorgeous shades as well!
