Each box contains two full size products from MOSS Skincare:
- MOSS Skincare Beurre Céleste Honey-infused Rinsable Cleansing Balm ($70.00 value)
- MOSS Skincare Illumina Vitamin C Perfecting Treatment Intensif ($145.00 value)
N.B.: Celestyna of MOSS Skincare has slightly modified the product descriptors to better reflect their function (as you will note on your bottle/jar). For example: Illumina Decongesting Radiance Concentrate is now Illumina Vitamin C perfecting treatment intensif. The June Box will have the newest labels, so Boxwalla just wanted to make sure that you are not confused that it is different from the description on the website.
MOSS Skincare Beurre Céleste ($70.00 for 1.9 oz.): This gentle cleansing balm, which has an utterly delectable creamy, warm citrus aroma, effectively and effortlessly removes dirt, stubborn makeup and even the most tenacious sunscreens. The balm melts into an oil and then emulsifies into a light and aromatic elixir. Not only does it boast unsurpassed efficacy in its ability to thoroughly cleanse the skin, and without the need for a cloth, but it does so without stripping or leaving an oily residue on the skin. It leaves skin gently and lightly exfoliated, and the extent to which skin is rendered soft, smooth, supple, hydrated and luminous is sure to delight. Without any exaggeration, this is among the most exemplary cleansing balms that I have ever tried. It offers a visceral sensory experience that is truly extraordinary.According to Moss Skincare,
A honey-infused cleansing balm that rinses clean with water. Beneficial for all skin types, especially dry and congested skins. Excellent for removing makeup and SPF. Also provides gentle exfoliation, smoothing and brightening. Preserves integrity of skin barrier and microbiome; no stripping, damage, or preservatives.
Features:
○ Offering the benefits of an oil cleanser, cleansing balm, raw honey cleanser and hydrating mask all in one!
○ Removes makeup, SPF and impurities thoroughly but gently, balancing and healing skin meanwhile.○ Leaves skin brightened, smooth and never feeling stripped or dry.
○ Preservative-free due to the unique water-less formula.
Directions: Use a dime-quarter sized amount on wet OR dry skin. We recommend using this on DRY and DIRTY skin for the deepest cleanse. Massage into the skin for at least 10-20 seconds. Massaging will help stimulate circulation and loosen comedones. You may notice granules forming – this is totally normal and indicates the cleanser is removing dirt and dead skin. Wet hands, and massage again until oil emulsifies into milk. Rinse clean, pat skin dry. (No need to use a washcloth to remove like with traditional balm cleansers.) Keep in a cool, dry place. If balm melts or granulates, TO REFORM: Melt the balm completely by screwing lid tight and submerging in hot water. Then shake well, and put into fridge for 2 hours. Remove and use as normal.
Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Garcinia Indica (Kokum) Butter*, Neem Flower Honey*, Macadamia Ternifolia (Macadamia Nut) Seed Oil*, Di-PPG-2 Myreth-10 Adipate, Hydroxystearyl Alcohol, Hydroxystearyl Glucoside, Lecithin*°, Xanthan Gum, Citrus Bergamia (Bergamot) Oil†, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Oil*, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract.* Organic/Wildcrafted (90%). ° Non-soy, non-GMO. † FCF (non-photosensitizing). ‡ Sustainably Harvested. 100% clean, safe and gentle ingredients.
The other slight changes to the newest batch of products (which will be in the box) are as follows (again just for your reference):
1. Beurre Céleste and Illumina no longer contain rosewood oil since it is difficult to obtain sustainable rosewood oil. They both now contain small amounts of palmrosa and coriander CO2.
2. Instead of Neem Honey, Beurre Céleste now contains organic, ethically obtained honey from the wilderness of Nebraska.
3. Beurre Céleste now also contains sea buckthorn CO2 extract to boost its antioxidant power.
Featured Botanicals:
Sunflower Oil – The sunflower we use is high in linoleic acid and Vitamin E, two key nutrients that have been shown to be beneficial for combatting acne.
Macadamia Oil – Offering a fatty acid profile that is very close to that of skin’s natural sebum, it is also exceptionally high in phytosterols. Sterols work the same way that cholesterol does in our skin, which is one of the reasons why macadamia nut oil has great skin penetration and anti-aging abilities. Phytosterols are calming and healing, which is why Macadamia is known to help repair the skin’s barrier function.
Kokum butter – Obtained from mangosteen seeds, Kokum butter is highly antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, and high in vitamin E. Used widely in India for both anti-aging and anti-acne benefits.
MOSS Skincare Illumina ($145.00 for 1 oz.): This brilliant serum, which is both an effective exfoliating and brightening Vitamin C treatment, is best used at night when skin cell turnover naturally occurs, and it should not be used in conjunction with other exfoliating products, retinoids, acids, scrubs and peels. This remarkable formula removes dead skin cells, helps to decongest clogged pores (and helps to clear breakouts and acne), it softens the appearance of fine lines, it helps to fade hyperpigentation and it reveals luminous skin. Skin is left soft, smooth, supple and luminous. It has a light and pleasant. almost fruity, aroma, but it does fade soon upon application. Since this nighttime serum actively exfoliates dead skin cells, it is imperative to use a high SPF sunscreen, and reapply it frequently during the day to protect the skin.
According to Moss Skincare,
This Vitamin C Plus Exfoliating Serum offers revitalized cellular renewal. It decongests acne-prone skins and smooths wrinkles and discoloration for mature skins.
Illumina is a Vitamin C and exfoliating serum in one. It uses botanical extracts and exceptionally gentle pumpkin enzyme instead of harsh acids or retinoids to balance cellular turnover and revive the skin’s natural glow and smooth texture.
It also contains Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (a stable form of Vitamin C) to brighten and firm. Studies have shown this type of Vitamin C may help decrease the appearance of acne lesions.
Notes from Boxwalla:
Illumina is both a gentle exfoliating treatment as well as Vitamin C treatment. Since it is exfoliating, it is recommended to use it just at night and without any other exfoliating products.
The frequency of use will depend on your skin:
1) For sensitive/mature skins, Celestyna recommends starting off using it once a week and then perhaps increasing the frequency depending on how your skin does. She has details of this on Instagram story highlights (on her Instagram page) about how to figure out how often to use it.
2) If your skin is not particularly sensitive, you can start by using it every 2-3 nights and depending on how your skin feels you can use it upto once a day (at night). Acneic skins can also try using it every night.
3) In addition to using it as an exfoliating & vitamin C night treatment, Illumina can also be used as a spot treatment, as well as a weekly brightening mask.
Directions: Apply after cleansing/toning and before moisturizer/oils. Illumina is to be used 1x per week – 1x per day in the evening. We recommend starting by using it every other evening, then adjusting if needed. Apply after cleansing/toning and before moisturizer/oils. If using Illumina, do not apply any other exfoliating product at the same time.
Ingredients: Viola Odorata (Violet) Leaf Hydrosol*, Water/Aqua, Lactobacillus/Pumpkin Fruit Ferment Filtrate, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Vigna Aconitifolia (Moth Bean) Seed Extract, Salix Alba (White Willow) Bark Extract*, Serenoa Serrulata (Saw Palmetto) CO2 Extract*, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract, Glycerin, Glycosphingolipids, Gluconolactone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Methylpropanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenylpropanol, Dehydroxanthan Gum, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract*, Magnolia Grandiflora (Magnolia) Bark Extract*, Andrographis Paniculata Extract*, Epilobium Parviflorum (Smallflower) Extract*, Moringa Oleifera Leaf Extract*, Arctium Lappa (Burdock) Root Extract*, Monarda Fistulosa (Bee Balm) Oil*, Palmarosa Oil, Coriander Oil* *Organic/Wildcrafted Botanicals.100% non-toxic, safe and gentle ingredients.

The multitasking balm is so unique and appealing. I need to check out the MOSS product line. Another wonderful box from Boxwalla!
ReplyDeleteIt is incredible! I definitely recommend trying MOSS Skincare– it's an extraordinary eco-luxe brand!
Deletethe balm sounds magical! have you tested it on waterproof mascara? i applaud an company that’s willing to reformulate due to sustainability! the switch of honey is curious tho. wonder if it was to bring down costs? it’s too bad as neem has some wonderful skincare benefits
ReplyDeleteThe balm is TRULY MAGICAL! I have not tested it on waterproof mascara- mostly because I don't wear it very often. My guess is that it wouldn't have a problem breaking it down, but since I haven't tried it, I can't be sure. I am not entirely sure why they made those changes– other than they moved away from the rosewood oil since it is hard to find sustainably harvested rosewood oil. I am not sure why they switched from neem honey, to ethically collected honey from Nebraska. If I were to wager a guess, it probably is because the latter is more sustainable harvested than the former, I don't get the sense that the decision was economic, but instead environmental.
DeleteThose sound like great products!
