Here are some details about the founder, Pedro Catala:

Pedro grew up in a rural village in Spain, where natural remedies were the norm for everything, from stomach ailments, headaches to even a broken heart. This complete reliance on the local flowers, seeds & leaves for everything, inspired Pedro to want to understand medicines, as well as the role of plants in them. To this end, he studied Pharmacy, followed by Botany. While working as a pharmacist at a private oncology clinic & interacting with the patients, he realized he wanted to apply his botanical knowledge to skincare that could help soothe & support stressed & sensitive skin. So he got a Masters in Cosmetic Science & eventually a PhD in Natural Skincare Formulation. Now, he blends in Spain, teaches at the University of Siena in Italy and lives in London.

The London Mask is a tribute to the city he now calls home, London and was especially crafted to combat the damaging effects of pollution on the skin.
