That I continually wax poetic about the wonders of African Botanics is hardly news to Lola's Secret Beauty Blog readers. To state that I deem their products the holiest of the holy grail in the realm of ultra-luxe-eco skincare– or any skincare for that matter– should also come as no surprise. I have been using their products for a few years, and they truly are peerless. Their visionary formulas have revolutionized skin and body care by continually producing cutting edge products that are healthy, effective, utilize the highest quality ingredients available, and are utterly extraordinary to use. Their quest to create healthy luxury products, with sustainably harvested indigenous ingredients from the Noik's native South Africa, has raised the bar on what it means to use luxe products without any fillers or unsafe ingredients.
Furthermore, the textures and aromas of each one of their thoughtfully conceived and executed products shows an attention to detail seldom seen, and I simply cannot sufficiently underscore the extent to which their products feel divine, and are an unmitigated joy to use.

Their latest launch, African Botanics Infinité Resurfacing Mask, comes in an ultra-elegant and minimalist pale green glass vessel that echoes the color of the luxurious gel-based mask housed within. Unlike most exfoliating masks that have a pungent scent, this one boasts a delectable quasi-herbal, fruity-floral aroma from which I can detect the slightest hint of Marula, Kalahari Melon and Jasmine Grandiflorum.
African Botanics sourced the leaf sap from the indigenous South African Bulbine Frutescens because of its unique ability to boost collagen production and therefore enhance elasticity, tone and firmness. The effects are pronounced and noticeable, and for this reason alone African Botanics Infinité Resurfacing Mask ranks among the greatest masks that I have ever tried, but that is but one of its many, many virtues.
If you have very delicate or sensitive skin, then I would initially leave it on for no more than 4-5 minutes, and rinse it off thoroughly. I was able to leave it on for a full 15 minutes the first time that I used it. While I did feel a warming effect, and a slight tingle, I neither found it uncomfortable, nor unpleasant. I use it twice a week, and have done so for about a month, and my skin looks and feels as though I received an in-office peel. With African Botanics Infinité Resurfacing Mask, however there is no necessary down-time, and there is not peeling whatsoever.
After I use African Botanics Infinité Resurfacing Mask is either use African Botanics Neroli Infused Marula Oil (Reviewed HERE) or African Botanics Fleurs d'Afrique Intensive Recovery Oil (Reviewed HERE) to nourish and smooth my post-exfoliated skin. The end result is baby soft ultra-luminous skin.
According to African Botanics,
African Botanics Infinité Resurfacing Mask is an advanced AHA + BHA multi-functional treatment formulated to rejuvenate all skin types without causing irritation or dehydration. Designed to exfoliate, clarify, decongest, brighten, increase cellular renewal, improve elasticity and add vibrant luminosity to your complexion. Dual action also enables antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, anti-inflammatory ingredients and collagen boosters to penetrate deep into epidermal layers during the treatment.
A powerful proprietary blend of potent Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Phytic Acid and White Willow Bark effectively exfoliates, refines pores, plumps and smoothes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Intelligent collagen booster derived from the leaf sap of South African Bulbine Frutescens increases collagen production and enhances skin’s firmness, tone and elasticity. Infuses skin with energizing and uniquely stable Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Niacinamide, Copper, Magnesium, Superoxide Dismutase and Resveratrol rich in cell-protecting antioxidants, enhancing natural repair, healing and collagen synthesis. Plumps, firms and revives the skin with intense hydration from Sodium Hyaluronate, peptides, nutrient-rich Sea Kelp, Green Algae and water-binding saccharide molecules. Helps calm, decrease inflammation and skin irritations with precious botanicals: Yarrow, Mallow, Centella, Melissa, Arnica, Aloe Ferox, Chamomile and Jasmine. Regenerates, protects and replenishes the skin with our Distinct African Oil Complex and ultra-pure African Bush and Desert plants, rich in polyphenols, omegas, plant ceramides, lipids and amino acids.
Directions: For best results, use 1-2 times per week. Apply a thin layer to clean face and neck avoiding the eye area. Massage gently for 2-3 minutes in circular motions. Leave on skin for 5 - 15 minutes, if sensitive, up to 5 minutes. Rinse with tepid water or use a wet washcloth. Follow with a moisturiser or any appropriate African Botanics face oil. Not recommended to exceed the suggested time. Use sunscreen to prevent sun sensitivity post treatments.
