Given the exorbitant cost of the new iPhone 7 Plus, I thought that I should get a really good case to protect my investment. Therefore, when Urban Armor Gear reached out to me, I was elated by the prospects of testing one of their highly-coveted iPhone cases. I am still waiting for my iPhone 7 Plus, but the Urban Armor Gear Monarch Series iPhone 7 Plus Case also happens to fit my iPhone 6 Plus– therefore I didn't have to delay my review for the receipt of my new phone.

Urban Armor Gear Monarch Series iPhone 7 Plus Case in Platinum ($59.95 from Urban Armor Gear): There is always the temptation to get a super-cute phone case that is heavy on aesthetics, but those often are less about pure, unmitigated protection. When I decided to buy the iPhone 7 Plus, I thought that I would forgo a cute case, if necessary, in order to do the best that I could to protect the phone. When I received the UAG Monarch Series iPhone Case, I  was surprised to find that it offered superb protection while remaining lightweight, slim and quite attractive. It combines a top grain leather case that is punctuated by impact-resistant rubber bumpers, alloy metal hardware and a honeycomb traction grip. It feels light in my hands, it doesn't add bulk to an already large phone, and it is very high quality construction. It is, without question, the best iPhone case that I have ever had, and I have gone through a lot of different iPhones and cases.

Overall Assessment: While you can certainly buy a phone case for a modest price, if you are going to spend a fortune on your phone it only stands to reason to invest in a case that will actually protect your phone! I am absolutely thrilled with my new iPhone case, and the only thing that would make it better is using it on my new phone! A+
