Longtime readers are no doubt aware that I don't often effusively gush over mascaras, and among the reasons is the fact that I often forgo mascara altogether. It has long been a take-it, or leave-it type of product for me, but periodically I find one that I like so much the I actually reach for it all of the time. Such has been the case with the Lancôme GRANDIÔSE Wide-Angle Fan Effect Mascara in Noir Mirifique. The innovative design of their proprietary swan-neck wand allows you to access all of your lashes with ease, and the shape of the wand makes getting into the tightest spaces effortless. The novelty of the wand's shape requires a bit of a paradigm, but it only takes a second to acclimate.
I found that I only needed one to two coats, depending on my desired intensity, and that Lancôme GRANDIÔSE Wide-Angle Fan Effect Mascara added volume and length without flaking, migrating or smudging. Furthermore, I found that it held my curl all day long. If you seek full, long lashes with superb volume, then add this one to your list of mascaras to try. I have worn it every single day that I wear makeup since having received it, and am so happy with the results.
According to Lancôme,
This revolutionary, Swan Neck™ Wand Mascara provides exceptional length, lift, and volume to all lashes. It features Lancôme's first patented wand, which works with the shape of your face for the easiest application, and the curve of the wand mixes the mascara with each twist open, allowing for formula that stays fresh longer. The specially designed, elastomer-molded brush perfectly deposits formula on each lash, while smaller bristles effortlessly coat even short lashes from root to tip for ultimate volume. The smudge-free formula features Lancôme’s rose cell extract, which nourishes and smooths lashes while providing infinite buildability. This high-gloss, clump-free mascara leaves lashes fanned out with maximum length, and it is designed with long-wearing, flexible polymers, which allow for easy removal.
Directions: Work the lashes starting at the outer corner of the eye and moving inward. Position the brush parallel to the lash line and at the root of the lashes.
Ingredients: Water, Paraffin, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Acrylates, Copolymer, Cera Abla/Beeswax, Copernicia Cerifera Cera/Carnauba Wax, Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Steareth-2, Cetyl Alcohol, Acacia Senegal/Acacia Senegal Gum, Rose Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, 2-Oleamido-1, 3-Octadecanediol, Disodium Edta, Propanediol, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Hydrogenated Palm Oil, Hydroxyethylcellulosed, Caprylyl Glycol, Panthenol, Ethylenediamine/Stearyl Dimer Dilinoleate Copolymer, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, [+/- May Contain: CI 77499/Iron Oxides].Rose-Cell Extract: Nourishes and smooths lashes and provides buildability.

I have liked their definicils but not their hypnois line. How would you say it compares to either of those if you have used them?
ReplyDeleteYears ago I used one of their mascaras religiously, but I can't remember which one it was. I don't have either of those two– so I can't compare them. I am surprised how much I love this mascara because I don't tend to get all that excited about mascaras, generally speaking!
DeleteThis sounds like a lovely mascara.
ReplyDeleteIt really is. I was pleasantly surprised by the extent to which I loved it!
DeleteI love the packaging on the mascara.
ReplyDeleteMe too, and the wand is really fantastic, and effective!
DeleteThat wand would be hard to get used to but with Lancome's reputation in the mascara world it would be worth a try. Getting away without mascara is not for me - my eyes disappear without it.
ReplyDeleteI thought that it was going to be really hard to adjust to, but it really wasn't. I really, really like this mascara a lot!
DeleteI've had some eye problems lately and I've got to go without mascara - not a good look for me as my eyes with my colorless lashes are almost invisible, lol. I'm not a fan of unusual wands. Gimme the straight stick with a wand with small plastic teeth and I'm happy lol, but glad that this is a good one for you :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear that you are having eye problems lately, Allison! I hope that this gets resolved quickly! I never gave much thought to unusual wands, but this one really works well for me.
DeleteThe packaging is gorgeous and I loved the swan neck wand and the formula but the bristles made for clumpy application for me. If they added more teeth to the wand, to make it apply less clumpy, I'd buy this mascara, forever.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the packaging, Erika– it really is gorgeous! Did you try to scrape off the excess mascara and wiggle the brush through your lashes? Te first time that I applied it my wand was too heavily loaded with mascara and I had to comb out the excess. From that point forward I haven't had any problems. It's definitely worth giving a second chance!
DeleteI try so many mascaras (an am swimming in the right now) but this sounds like a really great option. You had me at holds a curl!
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely worth trying once you are ready to try another mascara, Bailey!
DeleteWhat a weird, funky wand--love it! I have been really curious about this mascara so I'm happy it works so well! And it's price point is not TOO far from the MAC I'm using now.
ReplyDeleteI have been really happy with it, Babi! I was worried that the wand would be too gimmicky, but it actually works so well!
DeleteI have always been a fan of the Hynose line of mascaras though its been a couple of years since I have used any. I am loving the packaging on this product and I wonder howthe brush would work formy small lashes. I'll stop by and check it out.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely worth taking a closer look at it. I have been quite impressed by the results!
