LORAC has really been impressing me with their recent launches, and their new Sheer POREfection Foundation absolutely lives up to my expectations. The formula is first-rate, and the price is affordable– making this a great choice for anyone seeking a new foundation for the Spring.
LORAC Sheer POREfection Foundation is the newest member of the POREfection complexion range, and it boasts an antioxidant-rich, anti-aging formula that is oil, paraben and fragrance-free. The consistency is ultra-lightweight and it offers truly buildable coverage without looking or feeling cakey or unnatural. I prefer sheer to light coverage foundations, which this effortlessly provides, but it effortlessly builds to a medium to full coverage as well.
Whether sheered-out or built-up, LORAC Sheer POREfection Foundation offers a poreless-looking natural, radiant finish. Formulated for all skin types, including the most sensitive skin, this is a viable choice for anyone seeking a lightweight, buildable foundation that creates the appearance of a perfected complexion.
Tip: It occurred to me there are a lot of people who tend to steer away from oil-free foundation formulas, and therefore I experimented to see whether adding a drop of high quality face oil or serum would appreciably alter the finish of Sheer POREfection Foundation. I noted that the finish was neither compromised, nor diminished in any way, and that it simply intensified the luminosity.
According to LORAC,
This oil, paraben and fragrance free makeup is infused with anti-aging antioxidants of Vitamins A & E, Olive Leaf Extract, Lemon Fruit Extract and Papaya Fruit Extract to help soothe, nourish and rejuvenate. The lightweight formula helps keep skin healthy, youthful and radiant with a clean, better-than-natural, no-makeup look and feel. Get a poreless-looking, silky-smooth finish and achieve complexion POREfection® with LORAC.
Directions: Pump out foundation and apply using a sponge, brush or fingertips. Sheer POREfection can be layered for medium coverage. Shake well before use.

PS1 is a perfect match for my cool-toned skin. It is a cool, slightly pink shade that is a great match for cool, pale skin. During the summer PS1 will prove to be too pale for me, but I will simply blend it with a couple of drops of P3 for the perfect shade once my skin darkens. PS2 is a warmer yellow-based shade, and PS3 is a light-medium shade that is neutral.

Overall Assessment: Given that I have an overwhelmingly large collection of foundations, it is a testament to my love of this formula that I have been wearing LORAC Sheer POREfection Foundation PS1 every single day since having received it. I really love that my skin looks perfected without looking in the least bit artificial.

If they have it at Ulta tomorrow when I go to pick up my beauty steal item, I will test it out. I apparently have very difficult to match skin!
ReplyDeleteGood call! I would suggest watching a few shades to see if they oxidize, but be sure to walk outside and look at your skin in the natural light! I am really pleased with this formula!
DeleteThanks for that tip. I am more than likely to be closest to the lightest shade; however, that doesn't mean it will necessarily match my skin. The others all look very dark for me. I am pale!
DeleteYou are very welcome! It will really help you be able to select the right shade of foundation every time!
DeleteWell, darn! My beauty thrills sale item is online only today so I guess I am not going to Ulta after all......
DeleteThere seem to be quite a few items that are online only!
DeleteWell, I decided to go there to test the shades anyway just in case I wanted to use this foundation as the filler to get free shipping. Lord, I just can't stand paying for shipping! Anyway, the color I would have selected was totally wrong but she did match me pretty closely. The jury is still out on the product for me. I ordered a brush as a filler.........
DeleteOops, I responded to the mascara conversation here accidentally! I'm interested to hear what you think about the formula!
DeleteI'm a fan of light and sheer foundations as well. I'll check my Ulta when I'm there to see if they have a color to match my skin tone. I'm thinking I'm PS3. The medium shades which I would usually wear look very dark to me.
ReplyDeleteHi Stacie, These are definitely well-worth checking out on your next Ulta trip. I am really happy with the finish and coverage, and it sheers out so beautifully. Please let me know what you think after you check it out!
DeleteI may have to go to Nordstrom and see if they'll give me a sample of PS1 Porcelain. The color looks perfect for me. The last thing I need is another foundation, but when you see a potential color match it's hard to pass up!
ReplyDeleteHi Allison, I think that PS1 would be a really good match for you, and it definitely warrants looking at it. If you want more moisture or luminosity try a drop of beauty oil or serum. I would love to hear your thoughts!
DeleteI just read a review of the new tarte foundation and the reviewer made me realize it wasn't for me. But this sounds and looks great. I love that it's fragrance free and I've had good luck with Lorac before.
ReplyDeleteThe fragrance-free aspect is definitely a good match for you, but I think the you would really love the finish and coverage as well! LORAC has really been coming out with so many great things lately!
DeleteGreat to know you like the formula
ReplyDeleteI didn't know what to expect– especially since it is oil-free, and I don't usually gravitate toward oil-free formulas, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the formula, twinsy!
DeleteGood to hear the finish is so skin-like!
ReplyDeleteIt is, and I was so pleasantly surprised, Melissa! I wasn't quite sure what to expect since I don't usually use oil-free products, but this really turned out to be a winner!
DeleteI prefer oil-free foundations because my face produces enough oil to run a few factories. I have to swatch these sometime and hope there's a decent shade match.
ReplyDeleteLOL! You are hilarious! This foundation is definitely worth trying. I hope that swatching it will reveal a great match for you, Renu!
