I have been obsessed with high quality haircare products for as long as I can remember, and many many of my favorites have been salon brands that have been used on me by my hairstylists throughout the years. In fact, one of my favorite indulgences has always been buying the products used on me at the salon. One such line that has been a part of the landscape of my haircare experience for as long as I can remember is KMS California. They have consistently made superior quality haircare products since their inception, and their products just keep getting better and better.
1) KMS California Hair Stay Medium Hold Hairspray ($19.00 for 10.1 oz. from KMS CaliforniaUlta and select salons): If you are looking for a highly effective hairspray with medium flexible hold, then this one is well worth your consideration. I generally don't use hairspray, but when I want a little extra hold this is the one that I reach for. I don't like for my hair to look stiff from hairspray, and it never does with KMS California Hair Stay Medium Hold Hairspray.

3) KMS California Free Shape Quick Blow Dry ($21.00 for 6.8 oz. from KMS CaliforniaUlta and select salons): One of the chief reasons that I usually don't bother with blow drying my hair is that it just takes too much time, and I generally have very little free time in the mornings to fuss with this extra step. However, KMS came up with a brilliant solution by creating Free Shape Quick Blow Dry– because this visionary product speeds drying time by 50%!

According to KMS California,

Save a couple steps in your routine each morning with KMS California Free Shape quick blow dry. Speeding up drying time up to 50% and providing heat protection, it will reduces friction while conditioning lightly. 1. Do you know how this hairspray compares to Aveda's Control Force? I, too, do not use hairspray often but my most effective is the Aveda. It is about $10 more than yours, though, so would love a comparable alternative. Thanks!

    1. Unfortunately, I don't have Aveda Control Force to compare with KMS. You might try a tester at Ulta to compare them. The savings is certainly good! I'm super happy with it, and it's definitely my go-to on the occasions that I need a touch more hold.

  2. I used to be obsessed with KMS! I remember their shampoos came in short squared bottles, not sure if they still do. I haven't tested the brand in so long, but that anti-humidity seal is calling my name!
