If you are among the many who can't justify the expense of luxury makeup brushes, and prefer synthetic cruelty-free bristles to natural hair, there are lots of options available these days. There are also a great many that are high quality and affordable. My latest discovery, in the realm of affordable high quality makeup brushes, is from L.A.B. 2, and their cruelty-free line features great quality, effective brushes that are a pleasure to use.

All four of the brushes that I have feature soft synthetic bristles, but they are firm enough not to be floppy and soft enough not to be scratchy. Each boasts a nice heft, balanced handles and nicely crafted metal ferrules. After several washes none of them shed a single hair, and they retained their shape without any splaying. The handles have a slightly rubberized texture, think of NARS compacts as a point of reference, which makes gripping them effortless. They also clean up easily and remain attractive.

While it is the perfect size and shape to apply a setting powder, it also works nicely for the application of bronzer.
