Cibu Haircare to Pamper Your Tresses | Review

Summer may be an especially enjoyable time of the year, but all of that fun-in-the-sun can really wreak havoc on your hair by drying it out, causing the color to lighten and fade, and by causing lots of damage which results in brittle hair. Given that I have curly hair, that I color periodically, I do what I can to minimize sun exposure in order to avoid damaging my tresses. One of my best lines of defense is using moisture-rich shampoos and conditioners to provide as much hydration as possible before I even step outside. 

One of my recent haircare discoveries is Cibu, a professional salon line created by hair dressers for their clients. I have been testing out their line created for colored hair along with a detangled and a styling mousse, and I have been absolutely delighted by the extent to which it moisturizes, nourishes and detangles my hair.

Cibu Color Shampoo ($20.00 for 13.5 oz from Cibu): This is a gentle and very hydrating shampoo that is non-stripping and sulfate-free. Not only does it prevent color from fading, but it offers a nice dose of moisture that is perfect for damaged hair, curly hair, and hair that is dry.  It has a light fruity floral scent that fades away quickly.

Ultra-hydrating Cibu COLOR Shampoo nourishes and protects hair color from fading. Sulfate-free haircare shampoo that’s formulated with green tea extract to stop color from fading while it revives dry and lifeless tresses to leave hair shiny & manageable.

Cibu Color Conditioner ($20.00 for 13.5 oz from Cibu): Cibu is not exaggerating in their claim that this is an ultra-hydrating conditioner. In fact, this tames my naturally curly hair so much that I can easily get a comb through it without the need for a detangler or a leave-in conditioner. That may not sound like a big deal, but trust me when I say that it is when it comes to my hair! Not only does this conditioner lengthen the life of hair color, but it leaves my hair soft and shiny. It has the same fruity floral scent as the shampoo, but I find that the scent also fades quickly.

Conditioner Ingredients:

Cibu Knot So Knotty Anti-Breakage Detangler ($18.00 for 6 oz. from Cibu and Amazon): While I don't technically require a detangled or a leave in conditioner after using Cibu Color Shampoo, I do like the extra moisture that it affords my hair. In addition to that it tames any frizzies and leaves my hair very  soft and manageable. This has a really delicious almost tropical scent that reminds me of summer. The scent lingers for a while before it fades away.

An anti-breakage detangler and leave-in conditioner that’s infused with Bamboo, Lotus flower, Water Lily, Hydrolyzed silk/soy proteins, Vitamin B and Rhatany root to retain moisture, add shine, refresh and revitalize hair.

• Lightweight leave in detangler ideal for all hair types. Fine hair can use as conditioner. Excellent for kids' post bath-time comb outs
• Hydrolyzed keratin strengthens hair

Detangler Ingredients:

Cibu Mousse Lee Foaming Volumizer ($18.00 for 7.5 oz. from Cibu): When I want to set my curls with a little flexible hold this is my new go-to finishing product. It offers some volume without giving me big hair, but if I scrunch it in I can get the hold without the volume. It has a subtle warm fragrance that fades fast.

Non-aerosol and gluten-free, this lightweight, medium-hold mousse is ideal to set curls and add touchable, soft volume for a perfectly “undone” style.

Overall Assessment: If you have dry or color-treated hair, and are looking to try some new haircare, then these Cibu products are definitely worth your consideration. I haven't tried anything else from their line yet, but I definitely want to given my success with these products.
