My close friend, Susan Thompson, has recently expanded her eponymously named makeup up line, and it has everything that a makeup enthusiast could ever dream of having!
Susan Thompson Cosmetics BB Cream is a described as part skincare, part makeup. It is hydrating and offers sheer radiant coverage. It produces a very natural, no makeup look, and yet it perfects skin tone for a flawless finish. The soft focus particles capture the light effortlessly, and soften the appearance of pores and fine lines.
I chose Light since it was the closest to my skin color, and while it swatches as a warmer yellow-based shade– once it warms up with my body chemistry it matches perfectly despite the fact that I have cool-toned skin.
The texture of the BB Cream is light, silky and creamy, and it glides across the skin effortlessly. It never settles into, or accentuates fine lines or pores, and it leaves skin luminous and hydrated. Unlike many products that contain soft focus particles, the effect is very subtle and natural– rather than glittery and unnatural.
While this is certainly in the category of a BB Cream, it clearly leans closer to the finish of a tinted moisturizer than to that of a full-coverage foundation, and while it is more sheer than opaque it does offer some buildable coverage.
I am also quite impressed that once applied it stays put all day on my normal to combination skin, and the only time that I need to touch up is when I reapply sunscreen.

I'm sure it's great if it's from Susan Thompson but it runs so yellow which is too bad.
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely lovely quality, but you are right that it does run on the yellow side. I do find that it doesn't read yellow once sinks in.
DeleteIt definitely sounds like a wonderful summer product. I love the sound of "soft focus" anything!
ReplyDeleteIt is perfect for the warm weather!
DeleteIf you say this is better than the NARS I must try it!
ReplyDeleteI really prefer it to my tried and true NARS Tinted Moisturizer, and that has been my go-to for years!
DeleteThis sounds like something for me! Great review!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Leelo! I am very happy with it!
DeleteOh wow, a NARS contender huh? Nice!
ReplyDeleteI definitely think it is a good NARS contender. I can't believe that I am saying that because NARS has been my go-to HG for years, but without thinking about it I have been reaching for this instead!
DeleteSounds awesome! I wonder if it would adjust to my skintone.
ReplyDeleteIt really is an amazing BB Cream. I definitely think that Light is too yellow and too dark for your skin tone. I think that Fair might be the one that you could use, but I haven't seen it yet. I will see it soon and let you know if it looks too warm for you.
DeleteLooks pretty good for a BB cream! I'd love to try it sometime. :D
ReplyDeleteIt is really very lovely BB Cream, and definitely worth trying!
DeleteThis sounds like a perfect summer base.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely!
DeleteI never wear bb cream but this one sounds like it's worth checking out for sure!
ReplyDeleteIt definitely is worth checking out, Jamie!
DeleteHmm... this sounds really nice, but it is a bit yellow - though it would work for me. How does it blend out on you - does it keep that yellow tone or blend nicely with your skin?
ReplyDeleteIt is really nice, Honey! Ideally, I would prefer if it was cooler in tone, but surprisingly once it melts into my skin it no longer looks yellow on me. It blends out beautifully and it is buildable, but I like to sheer it out so that it looks natural. I'm really happy with it! :-)
