I am a huge fan of LORAC Cosmetics because they make high quality cruelty-free products that are affordable. As one who is lipstick and lip gloss obsessed, I have to say that LORAC does both exceedingly well.
LORAC Alter Ego Lipstick in Seductress (Rose). This sexy, playful and highly-pigmented cream lipstick coats your lips in luscious color with an opaque, matte finish. The ultra-rich, velvety-smooth formula is loaded with anti-aging antioxidants such as acai berry, pomegranate, grape seed extract, and vitamins C and E to help hydrate, nourish and condition your lips. Whether you wish to be a free spirit, a supermodel or a sex kitten (even if just for a night), Alter Ego Lipstick comes in a gorgeous range of colors from soft nudes to vivid hues to create any look you covet. Embrace your every identity and dress up your lips with LORAC.

Seductress, a stunning rose, effortlessly glides across the lips and deposits color beautifully and evenly. It has the perfect amount of cushion, is comfortable on the lips, and it has a gorgeous velvety matte finish. It doesn't dry out the lips, even when worn without a lip balm, and gives me about 3 hours of wear-time. While I don't find the formula drying, I don't find it moisturizing either. This lovely formula neither bleeds, nor does it settle into lip lines, and it fades evenly. The pigmentation is utterly superb, and a single pass offers beautiful opaque coverage. LORAC Alter Ego Lipsticks have a warm fruity vanilla scent that fades soon upon application.

Ingredients: Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Diisostearyl Malate, Paraffin, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Polybutene, Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcrystalline), Peg-8 Beeswax, Mica, Tocopheryl Acetate, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Punica Granatum Extract, Synthetic Beeswax, Cetyl Dimethicone, Oryzanol, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Phenoxyethanol, Flavor (Aroma), May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, 77492, 77499), Red 6 (Ci 15850), Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Red 28 Lake (Ci 45410), Red 33 Lake (Ci 17200), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140), Yellow 6 Lake (Ci 15985), Manganese Violet (Ci 77742), Carmine (Ci 75470). *May contain carmine as a color additive.
LORAC's Lip Lustre Lip Gloss in Peach Lustre. Amp up your look with LORAC Lip Lustre Gloss! Inspired by our top-selling 3D Liquid Lustre Eye Shimmer, these glimmering, glam glosses are paraben-free, super hydrating and infused with antioxidants of Acai Berry, Pomegranate, Grape Seed and Vitamins A, C & E. Wear Lip Lustre alone or with your favorite LORAC lipstick for added sparkle and shine.

Peach Lustre is a gorgeous high gloss shimmering neutral nude peach that is lovely alone, or on top of your favorite lipstick. This gloss clings to my lips nicely without being too tacky– these are not sticky, but they do have a touch of tackiness which accounts for their tenacious ability to stay put. Those among you who prefer traditional doe-foot applicators may not be as quick to embrace their brush applicator, but I actually really like it. The brush is short, easily follows the contours of the lips, and doesn't have a tendency to splay. LORAC Lip Lustre Lip Glosses have a delectable scent that reminds me of Crème Brûlée, but, that too, fades quickly.

  10. Helen, do you know if the Alter Ego formula was changed from when they first released? Originally, I hadn't heard good things but as of late, I'm seeing better reviews. I've always wanted to pick some up because they are so affordable. Maybe its just a matter of different opinions. :-)

    1. Hi Kimmy! :-)

I don't actually know whether they changed their formula or not. This is the first one that I have tried, and based upon my positive experience I want to get more colors. I have seen some less-than-favorable reviews as well– so I don't know if they just didn't like the formula, or if they got a dud, or if the formal changed. I definitely think it is worth trying one to see how you feel, or even swatch it to see if you like what you see/feel.
