Milani's intention is to provide, "women everywhere with what they need to interpret these runway looks while reflecting their individuality." To celebrate this launch, Milani is hosting a nationwide contest, “Win a Dream Trip to Italy,” which runs from January 1, 2015 to March 31, 2015 11:59PM EST (see details below).
According to Milani Fierce Foil Eye Liner is,
...so new, it’s hopping right off the Milan runway and into your makeup bag. A truly next-level eyeliner, it gets its richness from a black base that blasts the luminosity, creating a shiny, shimmery special effect that lights up your eyes. Blackened jewel tones with a foil finish, these can be used for lining or a full-on lid look. And there are two great ways to play these blendable beauties: For a “classic cat” look, extend the color just past the lashline. For a “smoldering smoky” vibe, gently blend upward from the lashline to the crease. Available in four chic shades - Black Gold Foil, Brown Foil, Purple Foil and Navy Foil – with a custom pro brush that deposits color exactly where you want it. Glow for it.
Of the four shades available, I have Black Gold Foil 01 and Navy Foil 04. Both have a creamy gel-like texture, but the final finish becomes a powder– yet it wears more like a gel than a powder. The consistency is dense in the pot, but is lightweight when applied. The unique formula lends itself to gliding across the skin effortlessly without any tugging or pulling. Both Black Gold and Navy Foil are suspended in a blackened base that is punctuated by shimmer that imparts a beautiful sheen. Black Gold has a rich blackened base punctuated by golden sparkles, and Navy Foil consists of a blackened navy base punctuated by cool bluish silver sparkles. While there is a definite shimmer and sheen, I don't think that I would describe the finish in either as completely metallic. They are both truly gorgeous.
One could certainly use them all over the lid for a dramatic effect, but they are quite pigmented and dark, and will be too intense for day wear for a majority of the people. I love to use them to create the perfect cat eye, and they do a fantastic job in this capacity. They are long wearing, and on me they last all day long. That said, I don't have oily eyelids, therefore your wear-time may vary. I definitely would not recommend using them on the waterline since they do contain sparkle.
Left to Right: Black Gold Foil 01 and Navy Foil 04.
Each liner is handmade with an innovative blackout base that allows rich shimmer to shine through. This versatile product can be used as a smoldering eyeshadow or as an eyeliner to rock a classic cat eye. Available in four rich, jewel-like shades.Directions: "Gently glide the tip of the applicator brush over color. Apply product by gliding brush along lashline from inner to outer corner of the eye. For the Classic Cat Eye: Slightly extend the end of the liner past the lashline. For a Smoldering Smoky Look: Blend upward from the lashline to the crease."
Black Foil is a rich black with golden shimmer
Navy Foil is a deep navy with bluish silver sparkles
Look at this gorgeous sheen!

I have these eyeliners, and I still haven't tried them. I loved your detailed review. Now I want to break into them and try 'em out. I think I'll shovel snow today in the blue one ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Allison! Oh, you must try them! I'm so glad that you enjoyed my review– that means a great deal coming from you! YES, I think that the blue one will be perfect for a chilly New England snow day! I think that it will look gorgeous on you as you shovel snow! :-)
DeleteThat blue sure has potential but I'm still a wimp when it comes to wearing bold colors.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the blue is definitely stunning! I think that it would be gorgeous on you! That said, if it is too far out of your comfort zone it might be better to try a more neutral color.
DeleteAhh look at black gold! I was thinking they look more like powder to me, but if they actually wear like gel, I'm in! Wish Milani were easier to find here tho!
ReplyDeleteHi Sunny! RIGHT?! The texture is really unusual in that it's not quite what you would expect. These are definitely worth looking into! Hopefully Milani becomes more available in Belgium, because their products are really and truly fantastic!
DeleteThanks for the great swatches! I like that dark blue.
ReplyDeleteYou are so welcome, Courtney! That shade would be AMAZING on you!
DeleteMAN these are pigmented! I love Milani. Such an amazing, high quality drugstore brand.
ReplyDeleteI love Milani too! These are ridiculously pigmented, and so worth having. I'm always amazed by the quality of Milani products, and if you put their products in luxe packaging you could sell them for luxury prices in department stores!
DeleteOoooh! I am definitely going to try these! I wonder how their wear is, how long the pigment lasts, especially on oily skin.
ReplyDeleteHi Miki, Aren't they gorgeous?! As I mentioned in my review, I find that it stays put all day. I find very little fading, but as noted I don't have oily eyelids– so you might want to apply it over a primer to increase your wear-time if things have a tendency to slide off your lids after a couple of hours. The colors are so rich and saturated, and definitely worth trying. The price is great as well! :-)
DeleteI did a cat eye the other night with Black Gold and really liked how it turned out!!
ReplyDeleteHi Dani! I'm wearing a cat eye in Black Gold at this very moment! I'm really pleased with the way it turned out!
DeleteI want that blue now. I have it in brown and it's just so pretty. They were better on the upper lashline than the lower one but they are so pretty that I don't care if I have to reapply. If only I'd know to buy more when I found them!!
ReplyDeleteI want the brown! The blue is so gorgeous! I tend to use a pencil for the lower lashline, and tend to prefer using gels in the upper. Do you find that you have to reapply often? I haven't found the need to. My eyelids aren't oily, so things tend to stay put, but greasier pencils definitely do migrate on me and have to be set with powder eyeliner/shadow to keep them in place.
DeleteWow, they are very sparkly indeed. I'll probably wear 'em for special occasions but I agree w/ you on using them as eyeliners.
ReplyDeleteThey definitely are! They are gorgeous as eyeliners! I think that you could definitely pull them off more often than just special occasions though!
DeleteI have been very impressed with these... I think Milani did well in reformulation or creating these versus the other ones they had... the galaxy which didn't work for me.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you, Honey!
DeleteThese look amazing! So need to pick up Black Foil.
ReplyDeleteMilani is just amazing! Black Foil is awesome!
Deletevery impressive for a drugstore brand, colors and texture.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! It always amazes me that Milani makes such high quality products at such an affordable price point! I think they rival the quality of lots of department store brands!
DeleteMilani puts out some amazing quality items and is top drugstore pick for me personally. SO happy to have gotten my hands on these!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you, and feel exactly the same way about them! These are just amazing, and I'm always astonished by the general quality of their products!
DeleteThey are so pretty
ReplyDeleteI agree! They really are quite lovely!
Deletei may have to hunt down some of this line. so much sparkle and shimmer! have you seen the Shu Uemura Metal: Ink liquid eye liners? the colors are really pretty and two swipes and you're done!
ReplyDeleteThey are quite pretty! I haven't seen the Shu Metal liquid liners, but I can imagine how gorgeous they are!
DeleteI'm so into all the foiled makeup lately! I would love to try that black liner, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to Best of Beauty! xo
Hi Chelsea, I agree, all of the foiled makeup is gorgeous! The black liner is super pretty! Thank so much for having me! I'm just loving participating!
DeleteWow, check out those swatches! Bam! They kind of look like the L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows, just by your post. Hmm, I wonder...
ReplyDeleteHi Sammi, They definitely do look a bit like the L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows in the swatches! I'm so impressed by the quality of Milani products!
DeleteI love Milani products but I haven't seen these yet. I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteI love Milani as well! It's definitely worth checking out this collection!
DeleteThese are lovely, glad to know they preform well. Out of these 2 I like the blue best, but the purple and brown also intrigue me!
ReplyDeleteI agree! Yes, the blue is simply gorgeous! I, too, am intrigued by the brown and purple! :-)
