  1. Funny you should review something that arrived on my doorstep yesterday! I am confused by the repair balm and body scrub, though. Both products are hard as rocks in the container. Did I get a bad batch? I mean, I can't even push my finger into the balm to get it out of the jar.....

    1. This is just such a great deal!!!!! The balm will probably need a little warming up to get it ready for use. I wonder if yours are hard because they have been traveling in cold weather to get to you (in a cold part of the country). I doubt that you got a bad batch, and if they were bad I'm sure that they would smell rancid. I would try scooping a little bit of the balm into your hand and warming it by rubbing your hands together. It should quickly warm that way. The first ingredient in the Body Scrub is Kaolin, and my guess is that it my be a touch hard from the weather conditions. I assume that once you scoop some out and begin using it that it will be just fine as well. I don't own that product, though I have been wanting it for some time, so I can't go grab my jar to tell you more. Let me know if this works. If this fails you could always email the company to see if they have any additional tricks.

  2. I initially thought it could be due to the cold also, but it has been inside for about 24 hours now so I thought it would be at its normal state. I sent an email to SpaceNK to ask them about it. I don't want to maul it up in case they want it back. Although perhaps that might show 'good effort' in trying to use the product on my behalf.

    1. That was a smart move emailing Space NK. If it were me, I would probably try the products to see if I could get them to work, but you might want to wait to see what they say since you have already engaged them for help. Keep me posted! I hope that you get it resolved quickly!

  3. I will post when they reply to me. As an update, the products are definitely room temperature now but they are still rock solid hard. I would be interested in how they arrive to you, Alison.

  4. I have had a response from a manager at SpaceNK. It is: The balm should be very hard and the scrub very thick and only somewhat pliable. However, both products should begin to melt upon contact with skin. If they do not melt on contact she said she'd be happy to send me a return label. Once the product is received a new set would be mailed out to me (or something else if I prefer). I was able to scoop out some of the balm and with (quite) a bit of rubbing, melt it in my hands and then apply it to my legs. I guess that's how it's supposed to work but it is not my preference. I haven't tried the scrub yet but I will.

    Alison, what is your experience?

    1. Mine definitely melts upon contact with the skin. Did you try warming the closed jar in some hot water? It sounds as though you were able to get it to melt, but it sounds as though it might just not be your preferred consistency. I will be interested to see how the scrub works for you. I'm glad that the manager did get back to you!

  5. I used the scrub today. I scooped it out of the jar with a spoon and it worked fine and smells delicious. The balm is definitely not my preferred consistency thought it seemed to work. I did not try to heat it in water--I actually feel like I shouldn't have to do that to make it work. Does yours have any 'creaminess' to it at all or is it solid like that Teadora lip balm? Mine is solid like that lip balm. I tried putting some in my palm and then closing the other palm against it to heat it. This did not do the trick. I had to rub my palms together and then further rub it into my calves. I'm glad I tried this small size as I would not purchase this product. There are too many other luscious feeling body products!

    1. I don't own the scrub, but i have felt it and smelled it, and I definitely want to get it! I would describe my balm as firm in the pot, but as soon as I glide my fingers across the surface it coats them with enough product to begin massaging it into my skin. I actually find the same to be true with the Teadora lip balm. However, it occurs to me that we may have different preferred ways of using such products because I don't scoop bits of these products out, but instead just run my fingers across the top. With the Marula Balm I tend to further warm it up in my hands and then massage it into my skin, and lately over my oil (face or body). The way that you describe yours doesn't sound at all like mine because mine definitely falls into the luscious feeling body (and face) category.
