Shiseido IBUKI Gentle Cleanser and Softening Concentrate | Review

I am always on a quest to discover gentle foaming cleansers that thoroughly clean the skin, but that do not strip it. I also love using a cleanser that works beautifully on its own and with my Clarisonic, but I like for my skin to be left feeling soft and supple afterward– rather than squeaky clean and stripped. The most recent cleanser that I have added to my rotation, and that checks all of the necessary boxes, is Shiseido's IBUKI Gentle Cleanser. 

Shiseido says, "Life's unpredictable. Your skin doesn't have to be. Say goodbye to breakouts, dryness and roughness with IBUKI. Simple skincare with beautiful results." They claim, "after 4 weeks that 96% of women felt their skin was in its best condition ever." 

Translated to 'inner strength,' IBUKI products are designed specifically to address the unique skincare concerns of millennials. The collection helps to correct imperfections, strengthens skin’s resilience and helps achieve smooth, trouble-free skin to those with demanding and fast-paced lifestyles including late nights, unbalanced nutrition, stress and more.

Shiseido IBUKI Gentle Cleanser is a very gentle foaming cleanser that does an excellent job thoroughly cleansing the skin, but isn't in the least bit stripping. It is ultra concentrated– therefore only the smallest amount needs to be used to cleanse the face, neck and décolleté. It is remarkably effective used alone, but it is ultra luxurious when used in conjunction with a Clarisonic. Both cleansing methods consistently leave my skin soft, supple and thoroughly cleansed. Furthermore, the soft squeeze tube makes it perfectly suited for travel. and it can be left in the shower without the fear of it breaking.

According to Shiseido,

This extra gentle, highly effective cleanser removes impurities and harmful excess sebum without stripping away skin’s essential moisture. It quickly lathers into a rich foam, and leaves skin feeling refreshed and silky-smooth to the touch.

Shiseido IBUKI Softening Concentrate offers the skin a wonderful surge of moisture, but it also has the distinction of leaving skin unbelievably soft and supple. I use it immediately following the IBUKI Gentle Cleanser, and my skin feels silky smooth and unbelievably hydrated. The combination of these two products leaves the skin thoroughly cleansed and hydrated, but also leaves the skin baby's bottom soft. 

According to Shiseido,

By supplying skin with generous moisture, this deep-infusion formula helps deliver the most effective ingredients into the skin for an immediate soft, smooth feel. It also enhances the benefits of other skincare products while creating an even palette for cosmetics. 

Directions: Smooth over face after cleansing.

Overall Assessment: Shiseido's IBUKI Gentle Cleanser and Softening Concentrate Lotion leave my combination perfectly cleansed without being stripped, and with a deep level of hydration. The formula is so gentle and effective that I can use both products twice daily with great results. I may not be a college student, but that doesn't mean that I'm not an #IBUKIGirl now!
