Marula by John Paul Selects Pure Marula Cleansing Lotion | Review

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

Pure Marula Cleansing Lotion is non-foaming lotion-based cleanser with a light gel-like consistency. It feels wonderful against the skin, and thankfully leaves behind no greasy film or residue. It has a lovely sweet earthy scent that is pleasant, but not overpowering. One only needs to apply a small amount and massage it into the skin to see wonderful results. It leaves skin thoroughly cleansed, soft, smooth, exfoliated, hydrated and serum ready.

Repair environmentally damaged skin and prevent future damage with the Pure Marula Cleansing Lotion from Marula by John Paul Selects.

This 100% natural formula contains a base of pure Marula oil - a superior anti-aging moisturizer that tests 50% higher in antioxidants than the leading argan oil and grapeseed oil. A faster absorption rate and longer lasting moisture retention make it the superior skin care oil for age-defiance and healthy skin.

Combined with the highest grade of aloe that contains 20 biologically active components and no solvents that can irritate skin, this omega-rich, gentle treatment supports natural cell turnover, moisturizes the skin, and prevents signs of fine lines and wrinkles.

Pure Marula Cleansing Lotion powerfully and gently cleanses and naturally exfoliates dead skin cells without drying out my combination skin. Its base consists of Aloe Vera and Marula Oil at the top of the list of ingredients which prevent drying of the skin, but if you have very dry skin be advised that the exfoliating qualities of this cleanser may prompt you to use it periodically rather than daily.

Glycan Technology promotes collagen production to protect and strengthen. An Alpha Hydroxy Acid complex derived from 5 natural sugars and fruit extracts helps to improve cell turnover for clean and even-toned, softer, smoother skin.
  • Cleanses away makeup and impurities without over-drying
  • 100% natural surfactants and Eco-Certified
  • Plant Peptides and 5 Fruit Acid AHAs help to tone and soften skin
Suitable for all skin types.

Suggested Use: Gently massage cleansing lotion onto face day and night to remove make-up and impurities. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry for soft, fresh, radiant skin.

Overall Assessment: A nice cleanser, indeed. I should note that I use a separate eye makeup remover before using this cleanser because I have sensitive eyes and it contains fruit acids.

    1. Hi Courtney,

I think that you might really enjoy it. Since it does have exfoliating action you might use it when needed rather than on a daily basis. You might get a sample from Sephora to try before committing to it. :-)

    1. Hi Leelo, It's owned by the founder of Paul Mitchell (John Paul DeJoria) :-) It's a very nice cleanser!

  4. This sounds really nice! I usually stick to Murad, Mario Badescu or Reviva Labs because I know I won't get a cystic acne breakout. I've had luck with Clearasil too. The zits come hard and fast when activated lol

    1. It is super nice, Brooke! That said, if you have trouble with cystic breakouts I would try to get a sample from Sephora and patch test it before committing to it. There are also lots of different botanical ingredients in here, and if you think that any of them might cause you to break out-- then this might be a pass for you. The Mario Badescu products work wonders when I break out! I don't think that I have any break out products from Reviva Labs, but I sure do love the line!

  5. I have sensitive skin at times so I'm happy to hear that this wouldn't cause any breakouts or irritations!

    1. Hi Dani, Well, it hasn't caused any breakouts for me-- and while my skin can be sensitive periodically I wouldn't say that I have sensitive skin. You might want to get a sample to see what you think about it before committing to the full size. Sometimes active botanical ingredients can bother people with sensitive skin.

    1. HI Honey, I have had no problems with it causing any breakouts at all. I don't think that it will bother your sensitive skin, but it might be worth trying a sample to make sure that your skin isn't reactive to any of the natural ingredients. It is a very lovely cleanser, and I am really enjoying using it! :-)
