Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipsticks are a thing of beauty, and the more that I try the more that I want! The formula, according to Hourglass, is "a luxurious and hydrating cream formula that infuses lips with rich, silky and lasting color." This is an accurate assessment of these twinkling jewels, but I would add that they are remarkably comfortable and lightweight on the lips. The more pigmented shades definitely have increased wear-time compared to the sheer shades, but even the sheerest of shades offer impressive longevity.

Fable is described as a Pale Beige Pink, and it is perfection for those seeking a lovely nude lip with sheen. Fable's sheer light pinky beige hue neither leans too cool, nor too warm.  It has gorgeous glossy finish, and while it is quite sheer, a few passes does intensify the effect and deepen the color.  It is one of the more sheer Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipsticks, and therefore if you prefer opaque lipsticks there are many other shades that will appeal to you from the Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick range.

The cream formula is very comfortable on the lips and boasts the perfect amount of slip and cushion-- as is the case with this entire range of lipsticks. I find the formula quite hydrating, and my lips are consistently rendered soft and supple whenever I wear Fable. I find that I get about 3 hours of wear time from this shade- which is quite good for a more sheer formula.

Overall Assessment: Nude lip perfection! The Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick formula is swoon-worthy, and there are colors and textures to suit every occasion.
