While it isn't often that I straighten my naturally curly hair, I love to do it periodically. It definitely requires high quality tools and products, and my recent favorite is the Lionesse Beauty Bar Silk Ceramic Purple Flat Iron. DeleteIt's wonderful to see a flat iron review by someone who has hair that's as curly as mine (though my hair is very curl it's finer - this is a I guess, because from the photos you're hair appears to be thicker). Curly girls just need a little something extra! :-)

DeleteI rarely have the patience to straighten my super thick hair, but maybe it's because I'm using the wrong tool. That iron looks so nice and modern, mines about 15 yrs old so maybe it just doesn't work as well.

I imagine that the technology has changed enough in 15 years, not to mention that yours may no longer be as effective. This is definitely one to think about when it's time to replace yours!

ReplyDeleteHi Ronni, I don't use a flat iron often enough to damage my hair-- I do it occasionally when I want to change things up, but I set the temperature on a lower setting and I don't leave the iron in one place for a long time. A friend of mine, who is a stylist, taught me that you actually sweep it through the hair quickly-- otherwise it is easy to damage the hair. :-)

DeleteI have very wavy hair and when I use my regular straightener I have to run the straightener through my hair over and over again to get a desired result. This looks like it would be sooo much quicker. Nice tool!

I definitely don't flat iron often-- mostly because of the time involved that I don't generally have to spare in the mornings. It didn't take too long to do all of my hair, but I probably take a little longer than I could because I prefer to use a lower heat setting. It probably took me about 15 minutes to do it. That said, I only flat iron my once in a while and prefer to let my hair dry naturally and be curly. :)
