NEW YORK, NY (August 2014) – Cult-favorite hair care brand, Shu Uemura Art of Hair, has partnered with fashion designer, Jonathan Cohen, to create two limited edition beauty bags that combine function and fashion for women who are always on the go. For his first collaboration, Jonathan was inspired to design each bag to meet the beauty needs of his exclusive clientele, with a soon-to-be coveted design taken from his Fall/Winter 2014 ready-to-wear collection.

Known for his eye-catching prints, the bags feature a modern take on the traditional polka dot with Jonathan’s original “Dripping Dots” pattern in a royal blue with pops of color. The larger, dual-compartment, all-purpose Beauty Bag measures 8” x 4.5” x 3.5” and is the ultimate travel case for any destination.  The smaller Cosmetic Case measures 8” x 3.5” x 1.5” and easily fits inside any handbag.  The bags are made of Europrene water-resistant material and feature a canvas lining to safeguard products.  Handmade in the USA, the bags also boast a gunmetal zipper with Jonathan’s signature. The perfect sizes for toting all beauty essentials, the bags fit Shu Uemura Art of Hair’s travel size shampoos, conditioners and iconic oil Essence Absolue, as well as “purse perfect” stylers Volume Maker and Touch of Gloss.

According to Cohen, there are two constants that run through his creative focus – a love of vibrant coastal culture and a strong impulse to transform simple materials into something unexpected, mysterious and covetable.
