At the expense of sounding like a broken record I think that what I have to say bears repeating: Prestige Cosmetics makes extraordinary quality products that rival their department store counterparts, but at affordable drugstore prices. Their products boast rich pigmentation, creamy textures, and astounding wear-time. Prestige Cosmetics offers proof positive that this can be achieved, but the real question is why doesn't every drugstore brand follow suit?!
I have a rather troubled relationship with waterproof eyeliners in that they either tend to be a bit too harsh for my sensitive eyes, or they aren't as transfer-proof as they purport to be. Others still, may deliver on their promise to be waterproof, but can be so hard that they require a tremendous amount of pressure to apply to the eyes in order to get any pigmentation. Therefore, my ultimate waterproof eyeliners have to be creamy and easy to apply, but that stay put once they set. They need to be transfer-proof, but at the same time easy to remove when it's time. Furthermore, they must be gentle and non-irritating on my sensitive eyes. Prestige Cosmetics has two different waterproof eyeliner formulas, and both check all of the boxes on my must-have list, and they do so extraordinarily well.
The Prestige Cosmetics Waterproof Eyeliner formula comes in 8 glorious colors ($5.50 each from Prestige Cosmetics, Ulta and Drugstore.com) (Affiliate Links).
The Prestige Waterproof Eyeliners offer very soft and creamy application with long-lasting fade and smudge-proof wear, and they are really truly waterproof. They are transfer-proof, and the colors are stunning! Furthermore, they stay put until you want to remove them! They are user friendly liners that require sharpening.

Star (10) is a gorgeous white with an eye-catching shimmer that is stunningly beautiful and eye-brightening! I have used it in the inner corner of my eyes, but haven't tried it on my waterline since it contains shimmer, and because I have very sensitive and easily irritated eyes.
Surf (17) is a stunning deep and complex navy blue with shimmer. It makes one of the most stunning eyeliners imaginable. It also pairs beautifully with Star. Surf is my eyeliner of choice this summer!

Completely off topic! I love your new banner and got a chuckle out of it :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, I'm so glad that you love it! I have been wanting to do something like this for a while-- it just sort of made sense to fuse symbolically my academic profession with my love of make and skincare! I'm so happy that it made you chuckle! What is your take on the upcoming Tom Ford Fall Collection? Are you tempted by the e/s palette and the blush/highlighter duos? I am dying to see them, and suspect that I will have to indulge! :-)
DeleteThe eyeshadow palette is just so gosh-darn beautiful; so yes, I'm very eager to see it. If the quality is typical TF, it will be a slam dunk purchase. I'm also ntrigued by his blush/highlighter duos. We all know how TF loves his sculpted, razor sharp cheekbones and so it will be interesting to see how he interprets that with color instead of the neutral Shade and Illuminate. Based on the pictures of the two color choices, I think the look is intended to be quite dramatic and I can easily envision how I'd use the berry duo for an evening concert look: hair swept back in a low chignon, simple diamond studs at the ears, a beautifully sculpted face . . . Oh! Dream on, Eileen! LOL. Have you seen the two new lip colors that will be released with this collection? I'm anticipating "needing" both of those ;-) I think TF has come up with a simple, cohesive collection for fall that is going to please the legions of women who are his fans. Time and time again TF has proven that less ican be more in both fashion and cosmetics.
DeleteI'm eager as well. The eyeshadow palette and the berry duo are definitely striking my fancy! I agree, if it is the normal high quality it will be very hard to resist-- especially if the eyeshadow palette is as creamy and smooth as Orchid Haze. The berry blush highlighter duo looks very dramatic and gorgeous, and I can DEFINITELY see you in that with your hair swept back in a low chignon, simple diamond earrings and a beautifully sculpted face! That sounds like the perfect look for an evening concert! The two lipsticks look gorgeous, but I need to see them in person since I seldom wear red lipsticks. However, I definitely can wear blue-based reds-- so if anyone can get me to wear reds it would be Mr. Ford!
DeleteI had a slight computer hiccup so I'm resending this. Sorry if it duplicates what Insent previously. Anyway, the lipsticks aren't red! One is a pink coral and the other is a beige pink. They're called Negligee and Twist of Fate but I don't know which is which. They look like they coordinate with the cheek duos. Here's a link to some good product pictures:

They're beautiful colors :-)
Thank you so much for this link, Eileen! I hadn't yet come across it-- so I am grateful to you for bringing to my attention! Those lipsticks are indeed quite gorgeous! It looks like I might be buying more than I had intended from this collection. I am also VERY curious about the new foundation-- since I love and use his other two foundations! :-)
Deleteoooooh, those sound very intriguing. oddly enough, i have spent the last several weeks searching for the perfect waterproof blue pencil liner. for liquid, i am liking the stila 'stay all day' but pencils (for tightlining) have been more problematic. i have been returning more blue pencils to sephora (now in my local penneys, although smallish) than i ever thought possible. do yourself a huge favor and ignore the mark jacobs gel liner in a retractable pencil form which comes with a sharpener. the color was lovely, but the liner could not hold an edge and needed constant sharpening -- as in during the process of lining one eye. then, the real fun began when the $25 pencil broke off in chunks inside the included sharpener. i think i was blowing steam out my ears by the third use and returned it right quick. i found a mally 'bullet proof' pencil in 'sailor' which is working out nicely that had been in some subscription box. i shall consider the prestige when 'sailor' has gone out to sea :)
ReplyDeletehope things are glorious in your world, helen.
Not only are these intriguing, but they are SOOOOO affordable! How funny that you have been looking for a waterproof blue pencil! This one is gorgeous, but it does contain some sparkle- so for my sensitive eyes I'm not comfortable using it for tightlining or the waterline. Good to know that the Stila Stay All Day is working well for you!
DeleteWhat a huge disappointment that the Marc Jacobs Gel Liners were such a fail! That sounds like a very frustrating experience! Haha-- I am LOVING the Mally pencil that I have been using-- I have to review it soon because it is definitely one of my favorite eyeliners these days!
Things are going ok, but we are having kitty health issues right now! :-( My beloved nearly 15 year old kitty Fannie is in renal failure-- while she seems to be stabilized at the moment I do worry a great deal! I hope that you are doing very well, Cheryl! <3
