There is no denying that Fresh makes lots of lovely products, but for many years my focus had been on their bath and body products. I'm not even sure why I hadn't really tried their skincare products in earnest, but their Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate has definitely changed my thinking. As all longtime readers know, eye creams are especially tricky territory for me given my tendency to get milia from so many that I have tried. When I first began testing Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate I had my typical trepidation, but one look at the list of ingredients made me far less concerned about having an unpleasant reaction. I have learned the hard way that most of the eye creams that cause me trouble are either too rich for me in general, and/or tend to contain petrolatum and mineral oil toward the top of the list of ingredients. Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate contains neither of these ingredients, and it has a light fast absorbing consistency. I am overjoyed that it neither gave me milia, nor was it too rich for my delicate skin.
The company claims and product benefits:
Fresh further asserts, "Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate features a powerful new ingredient for Fresh: noni fruit juice. Rich in sugar and antioxidants, the juice of this exotic Japanese super fruit is known to retain and increase moisture, improving the appearance of the skin. It originates from the archipelago of Okinawa, where women reportedly enjoy the world’s longest life expectancy."
“We took all of the amazing protective and firming benefits of black tea and powered them with noni juice for next- level age-delay performance,” says Lev Glazman, Fresh Co-founder. “As we mature, our skin is unable to retain as much moisture as it used to, especially the delicate area around the eyes. Together, black tea and noni juice offer the perfect age-delay brew.”
Key Ingredients:
• Black tea ferment helps to soften, smooth, and brighten the skin.
• Black tea leaf extract is known for its ability to protect skin from free-radical damage while helping to soothe.
• Blackberry leaf extract helps keep the skin firm, smooth, and supple and has powerful antioxidant properties.
• Lychee seed extract helps maintain the skin’s elasticity and smoothness.
My experience: The first big observation was that Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate neither gave me milia, nor made my sensitive eyes in the least bit reactive. In my initial testing period I used it exclusively both day and night for a period of about a month. While it gave me no trouble, the real question is whether I experienced any real tangible benefits that made any difference in the appearance or texture of my delicate eye area, and the answer is yes.
Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate is a lightweight and fast absorbing eye cream that is very hydrating. Unlike the many heavy eye creams that I have tried, this one doesn't sit on top of the skin and clog the delicate skin with milia. It quickly hydrates the skin, and leaves it luxuriously soft and silky. It plumps fine lines, and appears to make my skin firmer and slightly lifted. I also have noted a radical reduction in my dark circles. Furthermore, on the occasions that I have gotten puffy eyes, I patted this eye cream on, and it worked wonders reducing the puffiness. Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate has a light scent of Black Tea that is quite pleasant, but isn't long lasting.
While I found that I had immediate results from Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate, and that it gives me all of the moisture and hydration that I need-- it may not be rich enough for those among you who rely on a very thick and rich eye cream for particularly dry skin. I think that this eye cream would function well as a serum underneath a heavier eye cream for those with very dry skin, or it could be worn during the daytime when a lighter eye cream might be preferred.
I am very happy with Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate because it has delivered on the promises made, and it works very well on my delicate and finicky eye area. For me, the lightweight hydrating formula works beautifully and offers me all of the moisture I need without any of the problems that I tend to experience with richer eye creams. Furthermore, it is a refreshing and cooling eye cream that makes the skin in my delicate eye area feel good-- so I am very happy to have this eye cream in rotation.
Ingredients:
Free of Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates.
Overall assessment: I am very happy with Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate, and continue reaching for it on a daily basis. If you are like me and generally have a problematic relationship with many of the eye creams on the market-- then I would suggest trying a sample of Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate to see if it might work for you as well. I am very pleasantly surprised by its efficacy, and am supremely happy with my results! Now I want to try more skincare products from Fresh!

Tempting! I've only tried their lip balm, as the brand is painfully unavailable here! I'm still waiting for them to finally expand! I've read good reviews about their skincare products in general.
ReplyDeleteHi Sunny! I am very happy with this eye cream. I wonder why Fresh is painfully unavailable in Belgium?! I hope that they change that! I definitely want to take a closer look at their skincare after my experience with this lovely eye cream! :-)
Deletei just received a nice size sample of this from a sephora purchase. like you, i have a problem with milia, but need fairly heavy moisturizers for my saharan skin. i'm looking forward to trying this, there are definitely some good anti oxidents in the formula. i am a bit concerned with the added fragrance, especially near the eye area. did you find the fragrance noticeable?
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl! :-)
DeleteI have sensitive eyes and the fragrance didn't bother me in the least, and I didn't even detect it once I put it on. It definitely passed the milia test with flying colors for me, and it also provided ample moisture-- but my skin isn't dry. I will be curious to see whether it provides you with enough moisture as a stand alone eye cream or not. I suspect that it would be fantastic as a serum under a richer eye cream if it's not moisturizing enough for you by itself. Hopefully the nice sized sample will allow you to use it long enough to determine whether it's a hit or miss for you. I have to say that I have been very pleasantly surprised by it. Keep me posted! Have a nice weekend!
Such perfect timing! I just received a sample of this as well, and now can't wait to try it out. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you received a Sample as well! I would love to hear if it works well for you too, or if it's a miss. I am really happy with it, and am pleasantly surprised that I am using it with such frequency. Keep me posted! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :-)
DeleteI love the Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask, so I'd probably like this as well. Lately, I've found that my eye cream isn't moisturizing enough so I am in the market for a new one. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Kimmy! I have never tried the Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask-- I will have to check that out! I am so happy with this eye cream-- it offers me the perfect amount of moisture. Keep me posted-- if you try it I would love to know if it works well for you! :-)
DeleteI got a sample of this from Sephora too and couldn't wait to try it, as I am a sucker for anything skin care. It went on so smoothly and I loved it, however, I woke up the next morning and almost couldn't open my eyes, they were so swollen. The eye cream was the only thing that I had changed. Got online and looked at the reviews and a lot of people seemed to have bad sensitivity to it. So sad I can't use it; it seems so nice!
ReplyDeleteHi Mandy! OH NO!!! That sounds like you might have an allergy to some of the ingredients. That is so horrible. I was a little scared that I was going to have a problem with it-- because I have very sensitive eyes, and am prone to getting milia. Thankfully it works well for me, but am so sad to hear that you had that much of a reaction. This is precisely why I always try to get skincare samples before I actually buy the product! I have saved so much money on products that didn't work for me! I'm, glad that you had a sample so that you didn't have to take the time out of your life to return it, but I still wish that you didn't have to have such a bad reaction! On to the next eye cream! Thanks for sharing your experience! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :-)
DeleteI got a sample of this from Sephora as well, and was so excited to try, as I am a sucker for ANYTHING skincare. The eye cream was the only thing I did different in my routine and it went on so smoothly. However, I woke up the next morning and my eyes were 85% swollen shut! I got on Sephora and saw that alot of other reviewers had a reaction to. :( So sad I can't use it!
ReplyDeleteWHOA, 85% swollen?! It might be worth trying to determine which of the ingredients were the offenders that way you can avoid all products that contain them! What a horrific nightmare! :-(
DeleteI have only tried their sugar lip treatments, but their skincare sounds very luxurious!
ReplyDeleteTheir Sugar Lip Treatments are awesome! I've only really tried this eye cream from their skincare line (other than a few sample packets here and there), but am quite impressed with this eye cream, and definitely would like to try more of their products now!
DeleteYou should also try the Soy Face cleanser from Fresh. Its made with cucumber and rosewater and it is hands down the best cleanser I've used. It is gentle enough to be used on the eyes but is able to take off daily makeup. I use it twice a day and never travel without a small bottle of it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful recommendation, femminsf! I will definitely add this to my list! This sounds amazing, and I have sensitive eyes-- so this sounds like a real winner for me!
