Purchased by me
Having tried numerous samples of these three luxury face oils, I simply could not resist their charms. I will use all of them a bit longer, but glowing and radiant reviews will undoubtedly follow! Have you tried any of them? What's your take?

I have the Aesop Parsley Seed one and it's almost gone. I've tried some sachets of this one and really like it, but last time I was in the store, the SA was trying so hard to dissuade me from buying it (she said it's for really dry skin). She recommend Fabulous Face Oil, which I just don't like as much (it could be nothing but the smell though). Anyways, I'm a fellow oil fangirl, so I can't wait to hear more about these!
ReplyDeleteHi Sunny, I had a few sachets of the Parsley and the Rose, and for whatever reason I preferred the Rose. I'm sure your SA meant well, but I have combination skin-- and I have neither dry, nor really dry skin, and the Damascan Rose works very well on my skin. If your samples worked for you trust your instincts! I thought about the Fabulous Face Oil, but I became utterly obsessed with the lovely rose elixir that I just had to have it! It only took a few samples to sell me!!!!! I'm so glad that you are a fellow oil fangirl-- my obsession just continues to grow and grow! Of all of the oils that you have used, which is your favorite?
DeleteI know beauty oils are having a bit of a moment, but it is a well deserved moment. I've worn oils for years and during that time the oils have become more refined, they've lightened up without losing their efficacy, and the abundance of natural scents that now grace them are simply divine. They're not moisturizing enough for my dry skin, but they are a delightful supplemental product. My personal fave is by Tatcha--an awesome multi-tasker--but I also have a few others in my skincare stash that I enjoy for the sensory experience they provide.
ReplyDeleteBoth my mother and maternal grandmother only used oils on their face and both women had beautiful complexions. They insisted it was due to the oils they preferred, but I'm sure good genes had a lot to do with it! ;-)
Hi Eileen,
DeleteThey definitely are, and I couldn't agree more. I have been using them for quite a number of years now as well. I completely agree with you that they have become far more refined and lighter weight without losing their efficacy. I tend to use them as serums and layer them beneath whatever cream or moisturizer that I am using. I can see how your dry skin would definitely want a little something more, I tend to feel the same and I have combination skin. I still have not tried the Tatcha Oil, but definitely plan on doing so at some point.
Interesting, my mom has also used oils for her face as long as I can remember-- it was she who inspired me to try them long ago! It is very interesting that face oils have a matrilineal history in your family! I'm sure good genes does have a lot to do with your beautiful complexions, but the oils certainly don't hurt! :D
Hi Helen
ReplyDeleteOooh, more oils to try!
Have you tried the luxury korean brands such as history of whoo or Sulwhahoo? They are supposed to be great.
Veronica
Hi Veronica,
DeleteAlways more oils with me! I really love all three of these, but I knew that before I bought them since I used multiple testers first! I think that I have a few samples somewhere from Sulwhasoo, but I don't think an oil is among them. I definitely do want to try the line at some point. Are you planning on trying anything from either line? I have never tried anything from The History of Whoo, but their packaging is REALLY regal! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :D
Hi Helen
DeleteSulwhasoo has a facial oil now - http://us.sulwhasoo.com/en/product/Concentrated_Ginseng_Renewing_Essential_Oil
I just have to try this brand now because I met a woman in her 60s with absolutely perfect skin and that is what she uses. I will keep you posted.
As for the Hstory of Whoo, that is the other brand she uses too. It is extremely expensive so I am going to find some samples before I invest in them.
Have a great day!
Veronica
Hi Veronica,
DeleteThat oil from Sulwhasoo looks amazing. Please do keep me posted, if you try anything from either line! Her perfect skin must have been so gorgeous! She must have really made the effort to always take great care of it-- I imagine that she has good genes to begin with, but what you do for your skin makes such a huge difference. Now you have me even more curious about both lines! I agree-- extremely expensive skincare products are definitely best samples first before investing in them!! You have a lovely day as well! :-)
hello, I hope you are doing great. have you heard of rodial skin care out tried them ? shop nbc had very nice kits with great saving... they have s have oil also.. thought to all you since you are my expert now.. as always, have a wonderful time
ReplyDeleteHi Yaraa!
DeleteI'm doing very well, thanks! I hope that you are as well! I have only played with testers of Rodial products at SpaceNK before, but I think that I have a few samples of their products in my overstuffed samples drawer. I will have to go digging around in there to see if I can find them. I don't think that I have seen there oil, or if I did I was probably too distracted by other things to really register a response. I am so touched that you thought of me when you saw the NBC special priced deal. Thanks for your very kind and thoughtful words-- they mean a great deal to me! You have a fantastic evening! :-)
Oops, I hit publish too quickly! I meant to ask you whether you ordered the kit? :-)
Deletehello again, I did not... because I want to buy to radical moisturizer and the African botanics oil upon your recommendation.. but i am in need for cleanser and toner and they have a kit for that with as day cream for cheap.. unless you recommend s cleaner for me :)
DeleteI hope I am not too annoying with my so many questions as the time? have a wonderful night.
p.s you are very kind with a nice soul
You are not annoying at all! I thoroughly enjoy interacting with you!!!!! Well, I haven't used any of their products so I can't comment on how well they work from personal experience. My two most used cleansers these days are the Radical cleanser (it's non foaming) and the Sponge cleanser (it's foaming).

Those are my two current favorites because they are gentle and thoroughly cleaning. LEt me know what you are really looking for in a cleanser and I will try to think about what else might appeal to you.
As far as toners are concerned, I don't often use one, but when I do I reach for the Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Lotion because it is effective and alcohol free (it's also very affordable):

If the kit that they are offering seems like a good fit to you, and you have researched the products enough to feel comfortable and reasonably certain that they will be worth trying for your particular skin type-- then it might be a great find. It's really hard to know how your skin will respond to products until you have used them for a while-- so there is always that element of the unknown. Keep me posted! Thank you for your very kind words about me-- that is a very gracious thing for you to say! Have a wonderful day!
