Rodin by Recine Olio Lusso Luxury Hair Oil is "Every bit as exquisite—and effective—as the original RODIN olio lusso face oil, this aromatic potion was formulated for RODIN olio lusso by renowned hairdresser Bob Recine. It combines six of the original emollient-packed RODIN olio lusso essential oils (apricot kernel, calendula, sunflower seed, sweet almond, neroli, jojoba) with rosemary and juniper—two additional essential oil superstars that are new to our repertory. This duo knows just how to caress the hair, making it wondrously manageable and oh so touchable."
Directions: "Always begin with two drops of oil, warmed by rubbing your hands together, and apply from the ends of the hair towards the roots."
"For a healthy, lustrous glow, apply after shampoo and conditioner, to damp or dry hair. As a conditioner, add two to ten drops to a single application of your own conditioner, and style as usual. As a styling aid, add two drops to damp or dry hair. As a brushing treatment, add two drops to dry hair, and brush for two to three minutes for a healthy glow. If you use a wooden comb, anoint the teeth with two to three drops just prior to combing. As a scalp treatment, gentle massage two drops into scalp—this is especially effective for dry patches and flaking. To enhance color and highlights in sunlight, and to promote elasticity and luster, apply to wet or dry hair. Not a sunscreen."
Now I realize that you have probably already guessed that I
love this hair oil, because frankly the Rodin Olio Lusso Luxury range of products boast outstanding quality, are delightful to use, and render phenomenal results that exceed all expectations. Now without effusively gushing about this oil, let me simply preface my assessment by reminding you that I have naturally curly hair. What this means in real terms is that it can have a tendency to be unruly, it has a predisposition to being on the dry side, and it often needs taming (otherwise I suffer the wrath of fly-aways and frizz).
As with most hair oils, I didn't expect this single oil to adequately address the many issues associated with naturally curly hair. I also didn't expect that it could rise to the occasion when I created a rather dire scenario for our first encounter. After shampooing and conditioning my hair I didn't apply anything other than 3 drops of this oil to my hair (after warming it in my hands), and then I worked through my hair roots to tips. Generally I need something like a leave in conditioner or an emollient styling product to even have a chance at getting a comb or brush through my hair without tremendous difficulty. I was astounded by the fact that I was able to get a brush through my hair with this oil alone, but what was equally shocking was the fact that such a small amount of product left my hair glossy, gorgeous, and without any fuzz or frizz. Unlike the other Olio Lusso Luxury Oils, Rodin by Recine does not have the smell of Jasmine. Instead, the scent of the Rosmarinus and and Juniperus comes through giving it a pronounced green scent, but that does fade rather quickly. While it is certainly not an inexpensive oil it is so concentrated that I imagine that it will take me a very very long time to finish this beautiful little bottle. If it can make curly hair glossy- I can only imagine what it will do for those of you with wavy or straight hair! I would say, at the very least it is worth trying a tester when you are near a counter!
Overall assessment: Another exceptional oil from Rodin Olio Lusso! A must have beauty splurge for me!

DeleteThis sounds absolutely lovely! In the last 6 mos or so I have started incorporating oils into my beauty routine - both face & hair oils. Rodin is at the top of my luxury oil wishlist!
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I am a huge proponent of oils, and have used them for a long time. The Rodin Olio Lusso Oils have definitely been a game changer for me- they are so effective and luxurious, and oh so pleasant to use! I'm madly in love with the line! Rodin oils are definitely worthy of being at the top of your luxury oil wish list. I cannot imagine ever being without the Olio Lusso face oil. I am currently contemplating The Olio Lusso hand and body cream. I have been working my way through a sample, and am trying to decide whether I want to splurge and spend $80.00 on a hand cream. That said it is so luxurious and amazing that I'm having a hard time talking myself out of it!! <3
