Dupe Alert! Burberry Lip Glow in Pink Sweet Pea, OCC Pretty Boy & Le Métier de Beauté Mum's the Word! Swatches!

From the moment that I saw the gorgeous Burberry Lip Glow in Pink Sweet Pea (LE) (reviewed here) I had a nagging feeling that I had a similarly bright and gorgeous fuchsia in my stash of lip products. Then it dawned on me that OCC Lip Tar in Pretty Boy (reviewed here) might be a dupe. It also occurred to me that the Le Métier de Beauté Lip Crème Gloss in Mums the Word (LE) (reviewed here) might be a much more tame cousin.
Well, as you can see, my initial assumptions turned out to be correct. Pink Sweet Pea and Pretty Boy are basically the same shade- though the multi-colored pearl in Pink Sweet Pea gives it added dimension. Certainly OCC Lip Tars are more like a liquid lipsticks than a lip gloss, and they are far more opaque-- but the color is very very very close. As I suspected Mums the Word is tame by comparison, and it's hard to imagine that I once thought it to be almost too bright!
All three offer saturated color, but Pretty Boy is by far the most intense of the three shades, and Mums the Word is by far the least saturated.
All three are absolutely stunning, and I am so happy to have them!

  2. Well now I'm kinda glad I didn't get this as I own pretty boy...and almost never wear it! =) Though I did receive mallow pink and I'm pretty sure I live in it haha I'd probably sleep in it if I thought it wouldn't get all over my pillows!

    1. I hear you, but Pink Sweet Pea sheers out much much more than Pretty Boy. I love Pretty Boy, but never wear it either-- I'm only comfortable mixing it with other Lip Tars to make it less bright and loud!

LOL- imagining you sleeping in it is HILARIOUS! :-)

    1. Oh the LMdB one is amazing, but it comes in a set- the other shade is much more of a peachy shade-- click on my review link and see both swatches-- you can still get the set at Neiman Marcus-- I highly recommend it!!!!!!

    1. Hi love! Oh please, I'm like you-- I more often than not go for light colors like our favorite Lip Mists! When I go bold I usually sheer the colors out!!! Like you, I prefer glosses or cross-overs! <3

  5. I used to live in bright lip colors like this. I've mellowed as to what I'm comfortable wearing. That said I've got a major lemming for Sweet Pea!

    1. I generally don't wear a lot of bright lipsticks--but prefer lighter or more sheered out colors on my lips. Pink Sweet Pea is a great because it can be sheered out- no can Mums the Word. Pretty Boy all by itself is definitely more of a commitment! Pink Sweet Pea is definitely lemming-worthy!
