  1. Ugh! I *thought* there was a lighter looking lip glow, but my girl only thought she had the 3 others (all but mallow pink)...and that's the one I was really interested in!!! I'm gonna call her ASAP!!!! Did you see my post on what I purchased last night?!!! I'm excited to get some good swatch pics and even more excited to wear it all!!! I wore Pink Sweet Pea around the house last night...oooohhhh loooooove....

    1. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just saw your post and am losing my mind!!! I want everything that you got plus the Mallow Pink ! I can't believe that your counter already had it-- my SA said he is expecting it on 1/12! I now half expect that he will be calling me even sooner! I'm frothing at the mouth. You, Becca and I need some serious Burberry intervention-- or rehab!!! OMG Sweet Pea is making me lose my mind-- I want to see your swatches!!!!!!!!!! That might require a backup since it is the only LE item!!!!!!

    2. Ok, I ended up talking to a different girl and she DOES have the mallow pink!!! She said it's actually a bright pink and not even remotely pinky/nudish like the swatch pics show. She put one on hold for me and I'm gonna go check it out this afternoon in person....will update... standby!!!

Oh, no so you know for sure these are LE?????? If that's the case I'm definitely getting a backup of pink sweet pea. Seriously...it's just the bright color I've been looking for that actually works for my coloring!!!

Intervention!!!!! LOLOLOLOL!!!! Ok...I don't know that I can agree to that. I'm Asian and therefore inherently love Burberry so please don't punish me for just following my instincts!! Haaaa haa :-)

    3. Joyce will need in on our intervention-- I wonder if she has seen the collection yet?!

I can't believe Mallow Pink is actually bright!!!!!!!!!!! How on earth can their own swatches be that far off?!!!!!!!!!!!! Let me know if you like it and if it is worth getting!!!!!!!!

The only LE item is Sweet Pea, at least that is what the Burberry website says. Is it opaque or more sheer. Sweet Pea is perfect for my coloring as well!!!

OMG you are HILARIOUS!!! I would never punish you with the threat of an intervention- I think we should celebrate our Burberry insanity. Nothing can make me throw down my credit card faster than Burberry!!!!!! :-)

    4. Ok if you get a ton of replies from me I sincerely apologize!!! I was typing a response on my phone but the connection was terrible and I would hit the publish button and it didn't seem like it went through so I kept hitting it. Finally just stopped and am doing it from home...sheesh!!!

      Sooooooooo...

Mallow Pink IS bright. It's actually one of the 3 I saw last night, though didn't realize it. I showed the lady your blog swatches and she said that must be a mistake and whoever sent that to you must have gotten the names mixed up because Mallow Pink actually is much closer to the swatch of what you have labeled as Fondant Pink. I agree with what she said, and it's much more of a bright coral-y pink. She showed me their stock drawer and they only received the 3 glosses she showed me last night. She said they would contact me as soon as what we think is Fondant Pink (not mallow) comes in. In any case...I did indeed buy a backup of Pink Sweet Pea and went ahead and got the Mallow Pink since I was strongly deciding about it last night!!

The Pink Sweet Pea is sheer-ish. Definitely not opaque, but not so sheer that you wonder why you bothered in the first place. It's sheer enough that I can slightly see a couple of the freckles on my lips, but the color is such that I still look made up - but in a very good way!!

She felt really bad that she didn't have the GWP's already that they are giving out at the end of January, and apologized for not having anything to offer since I had purchased so much. She did however, pull out a small box of random leftovers and said I take whatever I wanted!! Most of it was perfume or lotion that I didn't want. One was a mini - and I mean really mini - (rather useless - sorry Burberry!) Kabuki brush, and then she also had what is labeled as a highlighter/illuminator. But it looks exactly like the little lip gloss charm that's on the end of the holiday collection tassel fob-thingy. Even the color looks similar. Anyway it's cute and it's mini check pattern so I'll take it!! LOL :-)

On a side note...though I love the sweet pea color, after wearing it for about 5 hours today I've discovered that it bleeds on me!! I'm going to need to wear it with a clear lip liner, bc as of right now I look like a 4 year old who tried on her mommy's lipstick! Ok, maybe not that bad, but I don't like what I see. I'll try wearing it for another week or 2, but I may consider returning the backup if it's too much of a pain. Hopefully it won't do that on you!

    5. Ok, lady...I promise to stop bugging you!! LOL :-) wanted to tell you I updated my post and added pics of the mallow pink gloss!!

Today was cloudy and dark all day so no swatches...hopefully I can get sunny swatch pics tomorrow...

    6. Oh please, Gummy- you are incapable of bugging me!

Mallow Pink is gorgeous, but it's pretty shocking how far off Burberry's own swatches are!! The swatches that I was sent were identical to the one's on the Burberry website-- it just makes no sense! It certainly can't be our individual computer monitors since we aren't the only people noticing. I hope that they have something in the light pale nude pink that the website called Pink Mallow- I would REALLY like that one as well!

I'm actually glad to hear that Sweet Pea is sheer-ish. That will make it more easily wearable- at least for me
:-). It's too bad that the GWP hasn't started yet-- it's always such an added draw! Too bad it's not until the end of January. I wonder if that's at all Nordstrom or if it varies by location. At least you got some extra goodies since you bought so much! I'm dying to hear your impression of Earthy since it is also on my short list-- thankfully it's not LE!!!

I hope that your clear lip liner prevents Sweet Pea from bleeding-- that's sort of a deal breaker, if it can't be prevented. I wouldn't blame you for returning the backup if that is the case. That or you could resort to the trick of only popping it in the center of your lips on top of a lipstick- so that you get the shine and depth of the gloss without the bleeding.

My fingers are crossed that you have a sunny day tomorrow!!!! <3

    7. No I agree it can't be the monitors...so crazy...but but but... I also put this in the other comment for you to see - I'll also post here. Someone on Makeup Alley said her counter had all the testers out and she took pics. There IS a pinky nude looking color, though she didn't say what it was called!!! Whew!!! I'm super curious now and can't wait to see it!!

    8. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUST GET NUDE PINK! OPENING OTHER BROWSER NOW WHILE TWITCHING!!! OMG! Now I think that I want both blushes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    9. I think that Burberry definitely goofed on their swatches. What was your take on the Coral Pink blush-- did it pull too Coral?

      Delete
    10. The Coral Pink was gorgeous, of course...but for me it's not that it pulled too coral, but it seemed to pull a little too red instead of pulling pink with the coral. The latter pink with the coral is what I was really hoping for because from the online pics I was all prepared to get both!!! It was difficult not being able to swatch and with the store lighting. UGH!!! I'll see how it swatches when they call about the other Lip Glow. I tend to pull the red out of any color...or rather my face tends to turn so many things to a color with a red or reddish/peachy undertone which isn't bad necessarily, but if it pulls too red then I look really splotchy. But I'd really like to swatch it because so many of their colors seem almost chameleon-like that I simply want to see it in person, dammit!!! LOL :-)

P.S. I'm taking indoor swatch pics now, to put up until I can get some sunny ones because the forecast for tomorrow is rain and gloom and I'd really like to get these up bc so many are curious!! At least it'll give an idea! When it's sunny out I'll update!! Stay tuned...

    11. Interesting that it pulled too red. That won't work for me either- I definitely want to see it in person. But if there is any chance of it turning splotchy then I will have to pass. I think you are right-- it definitely needs to be swatched in person. I wonder if the other lip glow is actually the Fondant Pink! It's all so confusing, and their swatches don't lessen my confusion one bit!

OMG I can't wait to see your swatches! <3

    14. I think that our blogs have become de facto Burberry support groups!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

  2. Couldn't comment on Gummy's blog :( but am just as excited as you to see her swatches, everything looks gorgeous!
If you don't mind me asking, who is the SA you speak with at the Topanga counter? Whenever I go to that counter, nobody from Burberry is ever there! I always have to get help from somebody at the Laura Mercier counter :/ & the last time I called to inquire about when they where to get the quads in, the woman (a Burberry rep) I spoke with said there was no such thing being released from Burberry! Lol, it's like nobody has a clue about anything there when I call! I use to have a contact in the Costa Mesa mall who would give me all the upcoming info from Burberry, but she no longer works there.
Anyways, I'm glad you are a fellow Burberry fanatic now! Haha ;)

    1. That's so strange, Naomi!! I wonder what prevented you from commenting?! I can't wait for her to get some sunlight to post swatches!!! Jason is my SA at Topanga-- tell him that I sent you- he will take great care of you!! That is unbelievable that you were told that they weren't releasing quads at all!!! That's pretty ridiculous!!!!!!!! Yes, I have definitely entered the fold of Burberry fanatics-- you really helped push me over the edge a while ago too!!!!! xoxox, Helen

  3. I am swooning SO hard right now!! :P The Coral Pink blush WILL be mine...and while I'm at it, I think I'll *finally* pick up one of the new palettes (probably Pink Taupe since I recently purchased a quad kinda sorta similar to Plum Pink...of course that doesn't mean Plum Pink won't be mine, it just means I will be good and wait a little while longer to get it :P). I'm trying to limit myself to those 2 items (for now) but I can't promise anything :P

    1. I know, me too Becca!! This is a dangerous collection! I have to see the Coral Pink blush in person- I fear that it will be too warm for me. Pink Taupe is the same one that I have been obsessing on for a while!! LOL-- I'm sure that there will be many ways to justify why Plum Pink differs ENOUGH from your new quad to justify the purchase heehee! At least everything except Pink Sweet Pea Lip Gloss is part of the permanent range of products so that we can buy what we want over time. I'm REALLY trying to be logical about this, but my inner makeup magpie is pretty irrational and impetuous in the face of Burberry- especially where pinks and nudes are concerned!!!!!!!!! I'm DYING to see Gummy's swatches!

    1. I know- I'm really loving that eye shadow as well! I am picking up the Pink Sweet Pea Gloss, The Pink Mallow Gloss (if I like it in person), the Light Glow Hydrangea Pink blush, and POSSIBLY the Gold Pearl Eye Shadow. However, it appears that the Pink Sweet Pea Lip Gloss is the only LE item in the collection-- which means that none of us have to go broke and buy everything all at once. Like you, I like to see makeup in person before buying it- because just because it is gorgeous doesn't mean that it will go with my skin tone. :-)

    2. When do you think you are going to go check this all out? I don't have a local burberry and am not sure when I can go, but was going to have them mail me the eyeshadow. Would you be able to swatch that bad boy out for me?

      Delete
    3. Of course, sweetie!! I am waiting to hear back-- once it is in I will go swatch the collection. It is expected around the 12th, but might take a few extra days. I will definitely go soon. :D

    1. LOL!! What we have here is a textbook case of Burberrymania and unmitigated insanity!! I think my last bits of makeup sanity may have just slipped away from me. I think that I am about to be reduced to a babbling Burberry whack-job!!!!!! So you have already been reduced to stalking your counter, twice no less?! I love it!!!!!! <3

    2. LOLOLOLOL :-) Seriously I'm laughing so hard...at all of us!!! Who knew some bits of powdery stuff and glossy stuff could make grown adults excited like they are waiting to see Santa come down the chimney!! But I love the madness!! Even more I love that I can share the crazy with all of you :-) Haaaaa ha!

    3. Me too! I was just thinking the same thing!!!! I agree it is awesome that we can share the crazy with each other! <3 Heading over to your blog right now!

  7. Oh my.
The powder blushes and eyeshadow are beautiful. I know my collection will include at least one Burberry eyeshadow or blush one day. I cannot help but swoon whenever I see photos/realistic images of them.
    *Sigh*
I'm working reverse-chronologically through my RSS feed and I quiver, knowing full well I have yet to read your post on Burberry eyeshadows. Eeee! It's going to be fun indulging in the joy of a fellow fan. (Did you notice I'm assuming you love the eyeshadows?)

    1. You definitely need some Burberry in your life, Boo! Your assumption is correct-- their eyeshadows are no among my VERY favorite!!!! You long ago commented about how buttery smooth they were (when we were comparing Burberry Shadows to Chantecaiille-- I think it was the Sel vs. Pale Barley discussion)-- they really are unbelievably creamy. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!!!
