Reviva Labs Seaweed Soap Review

I generally wait about a month before I review skincare products because I really want to get to know them and understand how they work. I also want to give my skin ample time to adjust to new products in order to better understand how well the product works for my skin specifically, and then by extension how well it might work for yours. In the case of the Reviva Labs Seaweed Soap I didn't have to wait a month, or even a week. I knew after just one use (which was confirmed by my subsequent uses) that this was a really amazing soap.

According to Reviva Labs, "Instead of animal tallow (sodium tallowate), common to most soaps, we feature a pure vegetable base of palm and coconut oils. Our Seaweed grains' scrub action, which helps remove hidden impurities, has been a family favorite in shower or bath for many years. In Spain, Seaweed Soap is even used as part of one's slimming or anti-cellulite routine. It stimulates circulation and helps discharge toxins. It's a soap both men and women will love. Benefits: 100% vegetable base; added scrub action - great for use in an anti-cellulite program; no animal fats!" In addition to the aforementioned, they are and always have been a cruelty-free line.
Their Seaweed Soap is one extremely effective exfoliating soap for the body. It is pleasant to use and it smells refreshing. It is very moisturizing because of the 100% pure vegetable base of palm and coconut oils- therefore while your skin is being exfoliated it is simultaneously being moisturized. What this means is your skin feels silky smooth and moisturized rather than stripped. The scrubby bits of seaweed really mean business, and when you take a moment to lather up the bar you will be rewarded by a rich creamy soap that is simply divine. Truth be told, this unassuming and unpretentious soap has given every expensive body scrub that I have tried a run for the money-- it really is that good. What makes this even sweeter is the fact that it is very affordable. Not to state the obvious, but I would avoid using this exfoliating soap on more delicate areas of the body. I tend to use it every few days, or as needed.

Ingredients: Soap (sodium palmate and cocoate types), water, sorbitan oleate, Atlantic and/or Pacific seaweed grains, glycerin, walnut shell powder, Atlantic and/or Pacific seaweeds, microscopic blue-green algae, sodium chloride, trisodium hedta, fragrance, iron oxides, talc.

Overall assessment: This is a fabulous soap, and the price is excellent! There will be many many many more of these in my future!

$4.00 4.5 oz. bar from Reviva Labs. Sent for PR consideration. All views expressed are categorically my own.

  1. I agree with you. As bloggers we try so many products and stay away from soap but this is a product that should change that paradigm.

    1. I couldn't agree more, Marcia!! And when you think of how much money that we spend on luxury scrubs and such-- it's pretty refreshing to get the same effect from such an unassuming little bar. It earns a resounding A+ in my book!

  2. I'm in agreement, as well. I really liked this soap! I use it for washing my hands after removing nail polish too because it just makes my hands and nails feel super clean.

    1. Hi Kimberly, Me too! What a great idea to use it on your hands after removing nail polish! I wish that I had discovered this soap years ago-- I would have saved so much money on really expensive products to exfoliate by skin!

  3. This sounds great! It's been years since I regularly used soap bars but I've been looking at them more lately. Even have a few in my stash (sadly neglected though). Will have to try this at some point in the future.
