I should probably preface this first by saying that generally speaking LMdB really philosophically resonates with my particular beauty bias. I love mixing colors together- as I have mentioned many times and in many posts. I just think that playing with makeup should be a fun and creative endeavor, and therefore the artistry with which Le Métier de Beauté approaches the application of makeup is sheer unmitigated genius. In fact, their artistry bolsters our own, and it really teaches you to broaden your palette by mixing various products and pigments in a way that is both instructive and exciting- not to mention the fact that it exponentially increases the size of your color wardrobe.
The Créme Gloss formula resides somewhere between a lipstick and a lip gloss. They tend to be a bit opaque like a lipstick, while having the sheen of a lip gloss-- therefore they fit comfortably within the context of the ever popular hybrid lip products category. While these beauties can be built up to maximum opacity, they can just as easily be sheered out-- making even the most pigmented and bright colors infinitely wearable. For example, the vibrancy of Mums the Word might send you running for the hills in fear of wearing something so bright, but fear not-- this beauty sheers out to the extent that it can be worn quite subtly as well as being office appropriate.
Two Lips is outwardly a far more subdued warm peachy nude. It again offers surprisingly buildable opacity, but can be sheered out to a barely-there perfect nude. The color itself is simply exquisite, and will send any peach lippy loving girl over the edge into nude lip nirvana.

Overall assessment: A stunning combination that you might regret not picking up if these colors speak to you. In terms of quality these are at the top of the class! I find that I get around four hours of wear from Créme Glosses. Seriously an A+!
Wow--they're both pretty on their own, but together?? GAGAGAGORGEOUS is right!! :P
ReplyDeleteAren't they incredibly gorgeous together?!!!!!!!!! I AM IN LOVE!!!!!!
DeleteYou know, Becca-- this is actually right up your alley because it's a in the hybrid lipstick/lip gloss category-- so it's kind of a perfect formula for lip balm lovin'girls like us!!!
DeleteThese look beautiful on their own and really together they look amazing!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. The combination is truly stunning!
DeleteOne of the things I love about LMdB is the mixing and these two mix beautifully. I haven't been to a Le Metier counter in a while but maybe I should get over there to check these out.
ReplyDeleteI agree the mixing is divine, and these two play so well together. As I understand it this set is LE and exclusive to Neiman's & Bergdorf's they are still available online, but I tracked down the last one at a Neiman's a few cities away- so they sent it to me. I would call before making a special trip since it seems many stores have already sod through the set. I'm in love with this set. I ave three more glosses of theirs that I bought recently that I haven't yet photographed or swatched-- I'm really loving all of their lippies!!
DeleteYou reminded me I need to wear Mums The Word! I adore the nail polish--it has a neon quality to it that is wearable! I love these blended together!
ReplyDeleteThe nail polish sounds delightful, Cindy!! I completely agree-- I love them blended together as well. They are gorgeous separately, but the combination is just amazing!!!! I wish that this wasn't a LE set!!
