Illamasqua- Australia Fight For Fair Beauty Campaign
Illamasqua - Australia: Fight For a Fair Beauty Price from Zsolt Sandor on Vimeo.
About the campaign:
"We are Illamasqua and we are making a stand against the global giants of cosmetics, who force Australian customers to pay up to 61% more than UK prices. It's entirely unjust that a woman in the UK pays just $24 for a lipstick, while a woman in Australia has to pay $40 for exactly the same product.
Illamasqua is an independent British colour cosmetics brand and, in the short time we've retailed in Australia, we've heard time and again your frustration over the inflated pricing of cosmetics compared to the rest of the world.
We have listened and want to slash our prices across our range in Australia. But first we need you to demonstrate to the industry that if we can make this change happen, you'll commit to buying our products. So please sign your name, make your mark, tell your friends, clench your fist and cry 'hell no!'" Click here to see or sign the petition.

Thank you for promoting this Lola! I'm tired of paying twice the price for beauty products just because I'm Australian!!
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure, Vita!! I have always found it criminal that you have to pay so much more than the we do-- it's simply unjust and unthinkable! I'm so proud of Illamasqua for doing this-- and think that everyone else needs to follow!! :-)
DeleteWow. VERRRRY interesting. I like how they promote the "fight" aspect and secure customer loyalty with a reciprocal promise. We in Canada pay some ridiculously inflated pricing as well despite our dollar and US dollars being at par most of the time for the past few years. And we can't get Illamasqua in Canada yet for some reason (I think they'd be in if they were allowed - something is holding them back). While I say good for them for taking a stand for Australia, I can't help but feel a little weird about making the petitioners promise to buy a lot of Illamasqua.
ReplyDeleteyes, I caught that reciprocal promise as well it would have been better without it, to be sure!! I actually thought about Canada the moment that i saw this, and couldn't help but think that this campaign should have included Canada as well. That's strange that Illamasqua isn't available in Canada yet-- especially since you have Sephora!! I do share your feelings that it is a bit weird to ask customers to promise to buy Illamasqua. One shouldn't have to ask for Quid pro quo when Australians will likely buy Illamasqua if the prices drop!
