According to Rouge Bunny Rouge:
The Evergreen Lake is one of the most quietly magnificent treasures of the Enchanted Garden; serenely still, fringed on all sides by majestic trees that despite their sumptuous size radiate vitality, unaltered by eyes and time.
Each morning at dawn, the lake’s silvery waters gently rise, bathing the roots of the trees in a diaphanous blanket of smooth calm. The water quietly ebbs back to the lake, leaving a hardly noticed shroud that diffuses a shining vigour and a tranquil embrace throughout the trees, from the deepest root to the tips of the leaves on the highest branch.
With the lake retreated and the sun risen above the treetops, the shimmering reflections sing out from the water in unison, an overall effect of unfluctuating beauty; countless intricacies woven into a seamless tapestry of light and harmony.
We have recreated the effect of the lake’s gentle tides with Sketches on Water Tinted Moisturiser. Its light, gentle hues dissolve into your skin, to even out skin tone and hide minor blemishes while maintaining a light, breathable feel.
This fluid Tinted Moisturiser gives your skin seamless, radiant glow and quietly underlines your natural beauty. The sublimely light texture refreshes with a high percentage of water and absorbs quickly, leaving an imperceptible film that veils small imperfections.
Loaded with botanicals and skin protective ingredients, our Tinted Moisturiser nourishes, hydrates and protects your skin against negative environmental factors like pollution and UVB rays. It includes Vitamin A and E which have anti-ageing and anti-oxidant properties; Malachite Extract is rich in copper and detoxifies the skin; it is also anti-oxidant. Smithsonite Extract provides natural UVB protection and is rich in Zinc, an essential mineral for the skin that aids healing. Laminaria Digitata Extract (Oarweed, a seaweed rich in calcium and potassium) fights fatigue, reinforcing the cells’ natural defences and is anti-bacterial. Hyaluronic Acid and PCA attract and bind moisture into the skin, preventing and treating dehydration.** Botanical Squalene (from olives) prevents water loss by helping repair the hydro-lipidic film whilst maintaining tone and elasticity and Prunus Extract (from the Cherry Tree) is rich in Isoflavones to naturally improve firmness.
Sail away to pure, radiant beauty with Sketches on the Water.
Blended out on the left for barely-there coverage, but it is buildable.

Truthfully, I tend to be much more of a tinted moisturizer girl than a lover of foundations- so finding this tempered my disappointment in my inability to find a suitable shade in their foundation range. The texture of their Sketches on Water Tinted Moisturizer formula is lusciously silky smooth, and it effortlessly glides on the skin evenly and beautifully. Despite the fact that it is a tinted moisturizer it is somewhat buildable. One of my chief concerns in trying out a new tinted moisturizer is whether or not the actual moisturizer will be too rich and cause my combination skin breakout. I am pleased to say that this TM is not only very effective at providing moisture, but that it does so without breaking me out. The texture is on the thicker side, but it is actually quite lightweight and non-greasy. It offers a gorgeous "my skin but better" natural finish that is hard to resist. If you love the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 (reviewed here) then you are likely to love this one wildly, as I do! I apply this with a foundation brush or with my fingers, but I prefer using my fingers with this formula because the texture is so lovely that I enjoy the tactile experience.

Overall assessment: This is a case of MAD LOVE! My only complaint is that it only comes in three shades- all of which are on the lighter side.

Hi, Lola, this TM looks really good, I think the lightest color would work for me. I always enjoy watching the Zuneta tutorials.
ReplyDeleteHi Rola, It is a lovely TM- and I know how much you like the NARS TM so I think that you would really like this one as well. I suspect that Adansonia would be the right color for you--especially since we both wear NARS in Alaska. I enjoy the Zuneta tutorials as well.:-)
DeleteI should get a sample of this to try! Looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely should. If you do, you should ask for a sample of Adansonia and Sequoia to see which color you prefer, but I do suspect that you might find Adansonia a slightly better match. The texture is divine!
DeleteNever heard of this before. I wish they had more shades though!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you, Eugenia! They really need to expand their shade range for their tinted moisturizers and foundations alike!
Deletei've been looking for alternative tinted moisturizers. i want to try the chantecaille and now i want to try this! i got really tan so i'm prob the darkest shade. how would i get a hold of a sample of this?
ReplyDeleteI think that you would like this one, Jackie. I actually think that I prefer it to the NARS TM-- so I think that there's a good chance that you would find it most agreeable. I have been wanting to try the Chantecaille TM as well. It's been on my list for a while now, and I want to get a sample next time I'm near a Chantecaille counter. The only way for you to get samples of the RBR TM is to request them when you place an order through Zuneta or Beautyhabit. I wish that they would widen distribution so that we could actually go into a store and swatch everything!
DeleteI am also more of a tinted moisturisers girl. Great review. This product sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Miss L! I really love this tinted moisturizer! It's got such a lovely texture, and it just makes my skin look lovely! I suspect that you would probably like it as well since you are also a TM kind of girl! :-)
