MAC Florida Cremeblend Blush Review, Comparisons & Swatches

MAC Florida Cremeblend Blush (Limited Edition) from the SHOP MAC Collection is described as a Bright Fuchsia that is a "creamy, easy to blend medium coverage formula" that "imparts a natural finish that's smooth, dewy-fresh, long lasting."

The texture is super creamy and lightweight,  and it feels remarkably soft and smooth to the touch. There's enough slip to this formula that applying Florida is effortless.  MAC's normal range of Cremeblend Blushes are subdued and neutral when compared to Florida, but don't let the brightness in the pan scare you away from this GORGEOUS blush. A light-hand will result in the appearance of a gorgeous natural glow from within. Because this blush is buildable, it should work for beauties who have fair, medium, and dark complexions alike. Florida is definitely a vibrant cool-toned blue-based color, so if that sort of color doesn't work with your complexion then you should pass on this one. There is no shimmer in Florida just a lovely translucent sheen. Once this blush sets it stays put on my normal/combination skin all day, but that may not be the case if you have an oilier complexion.

I have applied this blush with my fingers, with the Hakuhodo 210 (reviewed here), and with the MAKE UP FOR EVER 55N (review forthcoming), and all three methods of application have worked well for me. This formula is just delightfully easy to work with.
Florida: lighter swatch on the left and heavier on the right
To give you a better sense of Florida's hue and pigmentation I thought that it would be helpful to compare it to other bright pink and fuchsia blushes in my stash.
Top Row Left to Right: Chanel Joues Contraste in Rose Tourbillon (67), Chanel Joues Contraste in Pink Explosion (64), MAC Amazon Princess (Wonder Woman Collection); Middle Row Left to Right: MAC Florida Cremeblend Blush (Shop MAC Collection), MAC Overdyed Blush (Jeanius Collection), MAC Feeling Flush Mineralize Blush (Semi Precious Collection); Bottom Row: MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Cream #7 Fuchsia. Click on all images to enlarge.
Left: Chanel Joues Contraste Rose Tourbillon; Center & Right: MAC Florida. Florida is such a decidedly blue-based color that Rose Tourbillon appears subtle and less blue-based by comparison.

Left: Chanel Joues Contraste Pink Explosion; Center & Right: MAC Florida. Pink Explosion is a medium deep cool blue-based pink blue-based with shimmer that is a close match for a lightly swatched Florida.

Left: MAC Amazon Princess (bright pink side only); Center & Right: MAC Florida. Amazon Princess is a close match to Florida particularly when swatched heavily, but Florida is a bit richer in hue.

Left: MAC Overdyed; Center & Right: MAC Florida. Overdyed is more purple than Florida.
Left: MAC Feeling Flush Mineralize Blush; Center & Right: MAC Florida. Feeling Flush is more of a  rosy plum pink shade in comparison to Florida.
Two Left Swatches: MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Cream #7 Fuchsia (light & heavy); Two Right Swatches: MAC Florida (light & heavy). MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Cream #7 is a much brighter and louder fuchsia than Florida.
Overall assessment: Fantastic must-have blush. Simply GORGEOUS. Try to track one down if you can.

5.6 g / 0.19 US oz. $20.00 MAC is sold out online, but there area still a few of these floating around where MAC is sold.
