LORAC Lips With Benefits Lip Gloss in Nick Review

According to LORAC: Create a stir with LORAC's Lips With Benefits Gloss! This unique, hydrating formula is Paraben-Free and infused with antioxidants of Acai Berry, Pomegranate Extract and Vitamins C & E to help nourish and protect your kissable pout. These luscious glosses feature a menage-a-trois of swirling striped hues for a one-of-a-kind, high-shine finish with flirty, sexy color and a sweet crème brûlée fragrance that will have you wanting more. No strings attached, no sticky entanglements, just a satisfying, silky-smooth application every time. Don't be bashful, Lips With Benefits comes in many complementing shades to please you so you won't have to feel guilty about choosing more than one color to love!
I chose Nick, which is described as a light pink shimmer, because it was both beautiful in the packaging and it swatched beautifully as well. In the tube it is a gorgeous melange of gold and pink shimmer suspended in a creamy milky base.
As you can see from the swatches, Nick is a high shimmer translucent gloss that beautifully captures the light. The colors mix when you pull out the doe foot applicator which creates a lovely complexity to the multi-colored shimmer, but it's not an over-the-top glitter. If you prefer opaque lip glosses this will disappoint you because it is definitely a more sheer cream formula. It is unbelievably comfortable and moisturizing on the lips, and not at all drying as is the case with so many glosses that I have tried. It does have a crème brûlée flavor, but that does quickly subside- I happen to find it pleasant, but not all will feel the same. It is neither sticky nor gritty, and I often forget that I am wearing a gloss because it almost feels like a long wearing richly emollient lip balm.

Overall assessment: I really like this lip gloss a lot. The only downside for me is that it is limited edition at Sephora, and I'm getting tired of feeling as though I need to buy back-ups for the limited edition products that I like. That said, I am very happy with this lip gloss.

  1. I finally have time to sit down and read and comment! :)

I saw this at Ulta over the weekend and almost picked up Chuck. I really liked it. I haven't paid much attention to Lorac till recently.

Have you ever used Vitabath? I just heard about them earlier last week. It's paraben and sulfate free. I picked up one shower gel. Smells really good and not expensive. I am thinking of picking up more!

    1. Hey Nicolle! I've missed you! I am surprised that I like Nick as much as I do! Chuck is so pretty! I didn't realize that Ulta had so many more colors than Sephora (they only have 4). I might have to go to Ulta and check them out! I hadn't paid to much attention to LORAC before either. I got the Bejeweled Lip Gloss Collection back in December and really like it a lot- so I should have figured that I would like Lips With Benefits as well.

I have heard of Vitabath before- in fact I remember trying it years ago. I didn't realize that it is paraben & sulfate free-- that's a HUGE plus! I will definitely check it out again. Smwlling good and being well-priced is even better. Thanks for the tip!

    2. Your Sephora carries Lorac in store? Mine used to but they pulled it out :( They just put a Ulta 10 min from where I live. I didn't even realize till last weekend. It's kind of hidden. I have only shopped at Ulta twice before. I am surprised by how much they carry in terms of brands, they almost have everything. I got the Too Faced Natural At Night Sexy & Sultry Neutral Eye Shadow palette last month. I used it for the first time yesterday. I am thinking of taking it back...a couple shades had a lot of glitter fallout - I hate that and the pigmentation on some shades were so-so. I am thinking of getting the Lorac Unzipped palette instead. Actually, nevermind...I really want to try out the Bare Escentuals duo eye shadows! They are cheaper than the Nars and Chanel duo eye shadows. :) wow, so many tough decisions! haha... :]

oh, I was just looking over Vitabath again and it looks like not everything is sulfate free. The dry skin moisturizing bath and shower gelee aren't. All the body washes are though.

    3. There are a bunch of Sephoras in my area, but I only checked for LORAC in one of them and they had it. I would bet that most of the LA area Sephoras have LORAC since Carol Shaw started the company here. There is an Ulta close by in Hollywood, but I don't go there very often (unless I am going to Target).

I haven't tried anything from Too Faced-- I have looked at it at Sephora, but that's about it. Yeah, you know how I feel about glitter fallout-- just not a fan of that. LORAC's unzipped palette looks good, but those new Bare Escentuals duos look very promising. The color selection is gorgeous, and the ones that I have felt are silky smooth and well pigmented. I wasn't a fan of their loose shadows because they are so messy, but these look lovely. The Scenic Route, The Escape, The Enlightenment and The Top Shelf all look gorgeous!

Too bad not all of the Vitabath products are sulfate free, but at least some of them are!

    4. I love Target! My dad doesn't understand how I can easily spend 2 hrs in there :)

I never paid attention to BE for the same reasons...the packaging was a turn off, so messy. Those shades caught my attention too! especially The Enlightenment.

This is off topic but when I was at the Chanel counter another SA that I sort of know from Clarins came over to me. She surprised me cause she grabbed my hand and said "You look so good, you're glowing...I don't know what you are doing but don't stop!" I honestly feel it is from using Sunday Riley!

    5. Target is awesome!! I bought a bunch of my Eco Tools brushes from them (which I actually really like!). I agree about the BE loose minerals are such a HUGE mess. I have a couple of MAC pigments in colors that I really like, but I don't often reach for them because of the mess-- I was actually thinking about following one of those tutorials and pressing them myself. The Enlightenment is super pretty. Let me know if you cave and get any-- I'd love to hear if you think they live up to the hype. What a lovely compliment you received from the Clarins SA! I'm sure it was you + SR! It does make one glow!
