Illamasqua Powder Eye Shadow- Heroine & Wolf Review & Swatches

The two Illamasqua Powder Shadows that I picked up from Sephora are Wolf which is described as a Rich Chocolate Brown with a matte finish (bottom swatch), and Heroine which is described as a Neutral Beige with a matte finish. Unlike many matte shadows that tend to be dry, chalky, and patchy Illamasqua produces buttery soft finely milled matte powder eye shadows that are fantastic to work with. It feels like as though you are applying crushed velvet to your eyelids!

Illamasqua's description of their Powder Eye Shadows: "Each of these glorious colours makes a statement that is as individual as you are. Highly pigmented, prepare for an intensity that's not just colour-true but extremely long-lasting. Experiment and be bold."

Wolf and Heroine are very approachable easy to use neutral hues. I have been wearing Heroine as a simple wash of color all over my lid with a bold winged liner, and I love the look. Wolf is a great crease color, outer v color, and even a good liner color. I tend to like a bold black wing on top,  but I really like the effect of Wolf smudged into my lower lash line when I want a more subdued natural look.

I am delighted by the quality of these shadows, and am stunned by how well they do matte shadows. I'm talking on par with the matte shadows by MAKE UP FOR EVER!

Overall assessment: I am really happy with Illamasqua's Powder Eye Shadows specifically, and Illamasqua's products in general. There is much more Illamasqua in my future.
