Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Katie is described as a light milky pink with a matte finish, and I would only add that it is a very pale blue-based pink. Illamasqua blushes tend to be finely milled and very well-pigmented, and while Katie is quite pigmented the hue is quite pale. Therefore you would run the risk of a chalky application if you tried to build the color too much. Instead this color should be praised for what it is: a lovely pale pink blush that delivers a beautiful natural glow from within. Katie is simply gorgeous, and really is a very sweet shade of baby pink. I do, however, think that it might appear rather ashy on darker skin tones unless you use a very light hand applying it. Since it has a matte finish it isn't a great choice as a highlighter. I think that a color this pale will tend to be more flattering on people who have fair complexions. I am a NC20-25 and while I can wear it I have to use a light hand when applying it so that it doesn't get chalky looking. I stalked this shade for quite a while at my local Sephora before buying it, and I am so happy that I did. I am betting that I will hit the pan on this one and then repurchase it.

Overall assessment: I love Katie- it is a really beautiful shade of pale pink! This is a blush that I reach for very often.
