Koh Gen Do Cleansing Water & Cleansing Water Cloths are Gentle & Effective!

My eyes can be particularly sensitive when it comes to makeup and makeup removers, and I have even found many so-called gentle eye makeup removers to be very irritating to my eyes. When I was first introduced to Koh Gen Do's Cleansing Water and Cleansing Water Cloths I assumed that I would be disappointed as I had been so many times before. However, much to my surprise these products actually lived up to the claims made (in fact exceeded them). Not only did my eyes not sting, but all traces of makeup was removed, and the surrounding skin was left feeling soft and supple.

I first tried the Cleansing Water Cloths ($39.00 for 3 packs of 10 cloths) which I really liked a great deal. I found it to be far more economical to cut each of the cloths in 1/2- so a pack of 10 lasts me 20 days instead of 10 (I felt that it was too wasteful to use a huge wipe to remove my makeup).

According to Koh Gen Do these wipes remove makeup easily while nourishing the skin:

"Gently remove even waterproof makeup and skin impurities in a single sweep with mineral-rich Cleansing Spa Water. Made with the thermal water from Yumura Hot Springs in Izumo, Japan. Where pure water, rich with skin-absorbing nutrients, replenishes and rejuvenates as it cleanses. White Birch Sap, harvested only three weeks in early spring, contributes an abundance of minerals and xylitol as it lifts off makeup, oils and residue. No washing or rinsing required. Perfectly convenient for on-location makeup artists and busy on-the-go women. Oil-free. Alcohol-free. Safe for contact lens wearers."

Infused with six essential herbs to protect and nurture skin:
  • Rosemary Leaf Extract
  • Sage Leaf Extract
  • Lavender Extract
  • Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract
  • Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract
  • Ginger Root Extract

Full list of ingredients: Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Peg-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Onsen-sui (JTN Hot Springs Water), Methylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Lactic Acid, Arginine, Butylene Glycol, Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract, Betula Alba Juice, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Glycerin.

Once I finished all of my wipes I decided to try the Cleaning Water in the bottle instead. This is the exact same formula as I was used to from the Cleansing Cloths, but in a far more economical form. The bottle I purchased is HUGE- a full 10.15 fl oz for $39.00. This is quite large compared to most makeup removers that weigh in somewhere between 3-4 fl oz. I find this to be the best bang for my buck, and will replace it when I get through the bottle (which should take a while).

You can buy these at www.kohgendocosmetics.com
I got my Koh Gen Do Cleansing Cloths at Barneys New York, and my bottle of Cleansing Water at Sephora.
