If you are a huge fan of Hourglass then you will lose your composure when you see and feel their new Limited Edition Ambient Lighting Blush Palette. The ultra finely milled powder glides across the skin effortlessly, and it is neither chalky in texture, nor does it settle into pores or fine lines. Each shade offers "seamless, soft-focus, and multidimensional color."
According to Hourglass,
Evoke a luminous glow with this soft-focus cheek palette. Hourglass has fused Ambient Lighting Powder, its cutting-edge collection of finishing powders, with an array of vivid cheek colors, creating a hybrid product that is unique, contemporary, and revolutionary. Infused with Photoluminescent Technology to create depth and dimension, this blush does not fall flat and is lightweight, amplifying the colors to a multidimensional level, and leaving the entire complexion with an otherworldly glow. Featuring Incandescent Electra, an exclusive, limited-edition shade in a cool peach, this palette also includes Luminous Flush, a champagne rose and Mood Exposure, a soft plum color. The handmade powders are formulated using an advanced miscelare technique, which means “to mix” in Italian. This process achieves the perfect balance of pigment and powder. No two look alike, but all deliver a natural radiant finish that offers buildable color.
Luminous Flush is a champagne rose
Incandescent Electra is a cool peach
Mood Exposure is a soft plum
HOURGLASS INNOVATION: Photoluminescent Technology:
The micron-size, color-correcting particles alter the appearance of the skin by manipulating and refracting favorable light. The soft-focus technology filters out harsh light to help minimize the look of wrinkles, imperfections, and neutralizes discoloration. The result is skin that looks smooth, even, and enhanced—not masked.
“Traditional blush can read as flat, and so I was inspired to create something that was far more seamless. Ambient Lighting Blush fuses two advanced formulas to create something entirely new. It’s unlike any other product on the market.”—Carisa Janes, Hourglass founder

A beautiful palette. If you don't own the other two shades it's a must-have! I can't bring myself to purchase it since I own all of the others, but I'd be lying if I said I still didn't think about it lol
ReplyDeleteExactly! Well, the only reason to buy it is if you were close to hitting the pan on either or both, and simply couldn't live without Incandescent Electra. I know just what you mean! These makeup obsessions that we have can become quite powerful-- especially when what we are coveting is LE! :-)
DeleteOh WANT! For sure! I didn't know you could use these wet! They are SO intense that way!
ReplyDeleteHi Sunny! Totally lust-worthy! Actually all of those swatches were applied dry! That's pigmentation pretty much unassisted! I had applied lotion to my arm before, but wiped off the excess. The pigmentation is CRAZY!
DeleteOops sorry, that's "heavy" and not "wet." My brain was NOT working properly LOL
DeleteLOL!!!!!!!! That is hilarious! I actually had to go back to read my post because I worried that I may have been under-caffeinated and wrote something about applying it wet!! :D
DeleteThis palette is SO pretty, and these shades are stunning! I've never tried these blushes before but they look really great.
ReplyDeleteHi Brianna! It really is a stunning palette-- I agree! It is well worth your consideration! :-)
DeleteSuch a gorgeous palette that I need to get my hands on! Incandescent Electra is my favorite of the trio!
ReplyDeleteIt really is, Kristin. Incandescent Electra is definitely a GORGEOUS shade! I hope that they add it to their permanent range of colors!
DeleteWow! I've seen swatches before but yours are the first that make me feel like I really need this!
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you Valesha! It's definitely a gorgeous palette! I'm so glad that you find my swatches helpful!
DeleteIt is gorgeous palette!
ReplyDeleteIt really is, Leelo! :-)
Deleteoh lord now I'm mad I didn't pick this up yesterday at the mall when I saw it!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica, If I could how many times that I have done the exact same thing! You might need to take a trip back to Sephora! :-)
DeleteOh boy, oh boy. Gosh, this is one amazing blush palette! Your swatches in the sunlight are amazing!!! I love blushes that give your skin an ethereal glow!!
ReplyDeleteHi Dani! It really is gorgeous! Thank you, I'm so glad that you like my swatches and found them useful! I'm right there with you blushes that give your skin an ethereal glow are magical!
DeleteI picked mine up a couple of weeks ago! Love it, but I must admit, your swatches look better than mine, lol. :-) I noticed some above said the same - girl you know how to make an already beautiful object shine even brighter. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Kimmy! I'm so glad that you are loving yours! OMG, thank you for saying such a sweet thing- I was having a kind of crappy day, and you just put a big smile on my face! Thank you, sweetie <3
DeleteAww, hope things are looking up, sweetie! And that you have a fantastic weekend! xx
DeleteMuch better, thanks! I hope that you have a fantastic weekend too! xoxox
DeleteI need this palette! It is ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING! <3
ReplyDeleteHi Taneja! I completely agree with you it really is breathtaking! <3
DeleteIt's such a beautiful palette. I go back and forth on whether i need it.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's a really beautiful palette! It's worth considering with the Sephora VIB sale, but if you don't need it or want it so badly that it's keeping you up at night-- then maybe save your money for something that you can't live without! :-)
DeleteI have this on my must-buy list (I have Mood Exposure though). Sephora VIB is coming up soon so at least I'm getting 20% off.....
ReplyDeleteThat's sort of the problem for so many considering this palette-- they have one or both of the permanent shades, and then are basically buying it for Incandescent Electra! The VIB sale definitely is a HUGE enticement!
Deletewow! what are you using to get it to swatch so pigmented? i'm still experimenting with different brushes and number of passes through the product to lessen the time it takes to get to the amount of pigmentation i like.
ReplyDeleteCrazy pigmentation, right?! I just used my fingers and did multiple passes for the heavy swatches. Luminous Flush is especially pigmented, but it has to do with the ratio of blush to ambient powder-- this one is particularly heavily swirled with blush which definitely accounts for its crazy pigmentation. Are you trying to get more pigmentation?
Deleteyes. i find that i spend a bit more time building with these blushes than my usual go-to (tarte off the cuff palette from last xmas holiday). it recently occurred to me to switch to a more densely packed blush brush and to do a couple of extra sweeps through the blush before applying and that's helped a bit. you're up late tonight! hope this means you've finally recovered!
DeleteI was just going to say the same thing that you, too, are up late tonight! I was watching TV- LOL! Yes, thank you-- I recovered from that nasty bug! Did you have a nice trip to NYC?
DeleteIt sounds like switching to a denser brush is a good plan. The key to their blushes is to check the marbling before buying since they vary so widely. This way you can get the ratio of lighting powder to blush powder that you want.
i'm a night owl by nature. this isn't really late for me :P nyc was great! my cousins and i had a nice early thanksgiving reunion. sadly, nyc trips are always too short! i did bring a little piece of nyc back with me though in the form of veniero's cheesecake and bread from blue ribbon! sadly we ate all the h&h bagels the very night we bought them and i'm still kicking myself for not buying more to bring back!
Deleteguess that means i'll have to live with building up the pigmentation as i really enjoy staring at my current palette!
I tend to be a bit of a night owl as well. I'm so glad that you had such a wonderful time in NYC-- I knew that you would! What YUMMY treats!!
DeleteYeah, I think if you had gotten a swirl more heavily loaded with the blush then you wouldn't have to try to build it up as much.
I have this in my shopping cart and when I finally feel like I'll splurge, I hope it is still available. lol
ReplyDeleteHopefully they have it well stocked for the VIB Sale-- so everyone who wants it can get it at a great price!
DeleteThis is such a gorgeous palette. Your swatches are the prettiest that I've seen! I was going to pass before, but now think I might have to buy it!
ReplyDeleteHey J! Thank you for your very kind words! I agree that it's definitely a beautiful palette! :-)
DeleteWow, that's super pigmented! And I love the packaging.
ReplyDeleteHi Deborah, I was pretty shocked by the level of pigmentation! The palette from contents to packaging is just gorgeous!
DeleteI learned a trick from Marcia at the Hourglass in Bergdorf in New York. She ran her brush across all shades, which I wouldn't have thought to do. Stunning results! Too bad I already own the two permanent shades...
ReplyDeleteThat's a great tip! I would have probably mixed a couple, but likely wouldn't have run my brush across all of the shades! That's genius! What you are saying is precisely what so many other people are saying as well-- that they have one or both of the permanent shades already and are struggling trying to decide whether they want to but that palette for Incandescent Electra alone, or the convenience of having them all in a single palette!
DeleteThe color selection is gorgeous !
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly agree with you, Betzy! I was shocked by the amount of pigmentation that I was able to pull out of Luminous Flush!
DeleteI have this palette and freaking LOVE it. You showed the colors perfectly!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, Im so glad that you have it and love it! It's a definite beauty! Thank you for your kind words-- I'm glad that my swatches are accurate! :-)
