Arganesse Hair Treatment Review

My naturally curly hair is always in need of a good treatment that will tame the fly-aways and frizzies- therefore I am always on the lookout for products up to the task. I love post-shampoo smoothing oils that give my hair glossy silky smooth ringlets, and Arganesse Hair Treatment does just that.

Argan oil comes from a tree that has survived heat, drought, poor soil, and harsh conditions for centuries. Grown exclusively in southwestern Morocco, the argan tree produces fruit with a green, fleshy exterior similar to an olive, but larger and rounder. The nut inside has an extremely hard shell, which is cracked by hand to extract one, two or three precious almond-shaped kernels.

Using traditional methods to transform these kernels into argan oil takes time – up to 20 hours to make just one liter. Women use sharp stones to crack the shells, then grind the kernels between slabs of rock to create a paste. Finally, they knead the paste by hand to extract the golden-hued oil.

In addition to reducing poverty, the women’s collectives ensure good working conditions, provide education to members, and promote communication and cooperation among women from different villages. Perhaps most important for women, earning an income and participating in business decisions promotes strong self-confidence, resulting in an improved social position in the male-dominated regions of rural Morocco.

Arganesse Hair Treatment smoothes and tames my hair leaving it soft, silky and beautifully glossy. My curls form perfect shiny ringlets that feel smooth and moisturized. The texture is lightweight when applied to the hair, and therefore does not weigh it down or make it look greasy. The mixture of silicone, Vitamin E and Argan Oil beautifully combines treatment with styling ingredients- that aids in smoothing the cuticle as well as moisturizing and treating hair. There is a distinctly woodsy floral scent that is easily detected in the bottle and in the hand, but I do find that it fades rather quickly when applied to my hair.

I tend to apply Arganesse to slightly damp and clean hair because it works wonders as a detangler. However, I also like to use it on dry hair for added gloss, and to tame any fly-aways. I simply pour a small amount into the palm of my hand, rub my hands together to warm up the serum, and then apply it from roots to tips. The end result is always beautiful glossy well-behaved tresses! If my unruly curly hair looks silky smooth and gorgeous-- then just imagine what this will do for those who have straight or wavy hair.

Overall assessment: Works wonders on my unruly hair! It is quite concentrated- so I imagine that it will take me forever to finish this big bottle.
