You will note that in all of my swatches that the lightest pink is quite faint in color. I was told that Tom Ford suggests layering these shades one on top of the other- over primer to get the intended effect.
Both palettes are absolutely stunning. Every single shade is very finely milled, offers buildable coverage, they blend effortlessly, and apply as smooth as butter. Each palette features 3 textures: matte, satin & sparkle shades. In each palette, I was stunned by the creamy nearly wet texture of the sparkly shades on the far right. They apply like a dream, and I experienced no fall-out. Both palettes are so stunning that I had to buy both! If you are thinking about getting anything from the collection- the two eyeshadow palettes are the stars of the show, and because they are limited edition they will be the first to go.
Overall assessment: In my opinion In the Pink and She Wolf are the must-haves from the collection!

:) Oh, you got both! They are lovely and very impressive quality. I hope you will love them (along and together!!!)
ReplyDeleteI just couldn't help myself!!! I thought that I would pass on In the Pink, but once I started playing with it I just had to have it! I'm really happy that I made that decision. I don't think that you should walk away from She Wolf-- and it plays so well with In the Pink!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy the rest of the Holiday weekend! :-)
DeleteReaches out and grabs everything....
ReplyDeleteThe trios have just come out here, they are £50 each which was a bit higher than I was thinking. I should only get one....but which to go for as they both sound and look so good...arrrrhh
xx
Both palettes are so lovely! ₤50 is quite a lot, but I would forego the rest of the collection to get the eyeshadows, if you were thinking about anything else! They are lovely alone, but actually are gorgeous together! I can't wait to see what you end up with!!!!!
DeleteHi Helen <3
ReplyDeleteAwww, wonder what day you were taking these pics- I would have love to say hello to you in person! I was there on Thursday and purchased both eyeshadow trios as well. I was hoping not to be enamored with In the Pink to save myself some money (still waiting for Burberry's fall colors!), but upon swatching I couldn't resist. I 100% agree with you about the quality of these 2 beauties.
Hope your having a good Labor Day!
xoxo Naomi
Hi Naomi!! OMG, I wish I had known that you were there on Thursday!!! I went on Saturday morning-- but I would have gone on Thursday if I had known that you would have been there! I was hoping not to be enamored by In the Pink as well, I had sort of decided that I didn't "need" it, but as soon as I swatched it- it was all over and I had to have it! The quality, pigmentation and colors are just so outstanding that I had to get both-- I'm so glad that you got both of them! I can't wait to hear how much you are loving them!
DeleteI texted Jason- and haven't heard back yet- so hopefully i will hear soon- let me know if you talk to him before I do. Hopefully Burberry runs late on their launch so that I have time to cooperate from my TF splurge before going broke on Burberry- LOL!
xoxo, Helen
mmmm I think I need that Black Sugar... and She Wolf looks pretty stunning as well :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lucy! Black Sugar is gorgeous- the pink polish- while very pretty wasn't at all unique in color though. She Wolf is absolutely stunning- and one that I will get LOTS of use out of. The quality is amazing and the colors are stunning!
DeleteAlthough the line is supposed to FINALLY be coming to Canadian stores soon (so far we've only had the lipsticks and polishes), I don't think it will happen until after this collection is gone. :-( Too bad, because She Wolf and In the Pink look so beautiful. I'm very hopeful that the Orchid haze palette joins the permanent collection, since that one looks exceptionally lovely.
ReplyDeleteHi Kate! Yay!! Hopefully the whole line gets to Canada soon! As I understand it Orchid Haze is part of the permanent collection-- the only Limited Edition pieces are She Wolf, In the Pink, and the two nail polishes- everything else is permanent- which is good since that removes the frenzy from most of the acquisitions! She Wolf and In the Pink are stunning-no question. Hopefully they will be available in Canada! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
DeleteI did not read this. I did not see the swatches for She Wolf. I do not need this. Right?? At my Neiman all they had were lipsticks that were in awful shape. I looked at the two lighter ones but they are a lot like the other TF lipsticks I have.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you think of the eyeliner? That looks interesting but oh so expensive.
Of anything from this collection I think that you would be the very happiest with She Wolf-- it is even MORE gorgeous in person, and it actually mixes beautifully with In the Pink. Don't even worry about the lipsticks- they are all part of the permanent line-- they are just repromotes. The eyeliner is super cool, but it is sooooo expensive- I didn't grab it for that very reason.
DeleteWhen I first saw the preview pictures of this collection, I thought In the Pink would suit me best and that She Wold would be too intense. As swatches started popping up on the blogs, though, I reversed my opinion and thought I'd pick She Wolf over In the Pink. Then, I actually saw these two stellar trioand knew without a shadow of a doubt that I absolutely, positively had to have both She Wolf and In the Pink! I'm sure there's a moral to the story somewhere in there :-)
ReplyDeleteOne of the things that I truly admire about TF's seasonal collections is that they tend to be small, are extremely well-edited, and convey a cohesive color story. He doesn't try to be all things to all people by offering so many options that his image becomes diluted or distorted. The man knows what he wants to see and pulls together just enough products to achieve that look with flawless sophistication and elegance.
Hi Eileen,
DeleteI completely agree with your assessment about not only this collection, but his collections in general. I think that She Wolf and In the Pink are extraordinary both individually and mixed together.
I find it refreshing that his collections are as well-edited as they are-- particularly when so many collections out there have far too many pieces, and often the color stories make little sense. I love his approach, and each product that I have purchased is something that I really covet. I was very slow to warm to his makeup line-- which is odd given that I have long been a big fan of him--but now I am overjoyed by his makeup line! You are so right that one can easily achieve flawless sophistication and elegance with his lovely products!
I've been eyeing TF bruised plum. I would check that out at NM! You bought both palettes, I can't blame you, they're gorgeous. We are enablers, aren't we? LOL
ReplyDeleteBruised Plum has been tempting me as well! I couldn't help myself- I just had to have both palettes! We are enablers, and we have VERY expensive habits!!!!!!!!
