My experience: I must preface my assessment by first stating that as a true face oil enthusiast I am utterly enchanted by the novelty of the firm oil consistency. This is pure genius! It looks and feels like a gel, but behaves like an oil as it effortlessly melts into the skin. It has the intoxicating and delectable scent of Vanilla Planifolia that is both comforting and pleasant. As with all face oils, I massage this one into freshly cleaned skin that it still warm and damp. This not only assures that it penetrates deeper into the skin, but also is far more economical because this method requires far less product. While one pump is recommended, I find that I need far less for my face, neck and décolleté.
I am actually astounded by the extent to which this luxury oil deeply hydrates the skin. During my initial trial I decided to use it alone at night. That's right, after washing my face I applied it to wet warm skin, and did so unaccompanied by any other serums or moisturizers. My hoard of serums was ignored during my evening beauty routine in order to see what results Bare Love Face Luxury Skin Fuel Night-Time Recovery Treatment was capable of producing. Immediately after application my skin is deeply hydrated with a luscious glow. It feels decadent on the skin, and leaves the skin feeling soft and silky. In the morning my skin is radiant, dewy, deeply moisturized, soft, silky, soothed, and clear. My skin looks radiant and even-toned even when I am stressed and tired. Furthermore, the tactile experience of this firm oil makes using it thoroughly enjoyable. It smells and feels so good that you can't help but want to use it. However, the greatest joy is seeing what Bare Love Face Luxury Skin Fuel Night-Time Recovery Treatment does to the skin.
Bare Love Beauty is launching Eye and Lip treatments in the Fall- and I can't wait to try them! To see my review of their Luxury Body Fuel Recovery Treatment, click here!
Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Trihydorxystearin, Olea Europea (olive) Fruit Oil, Passiflora Edulis Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (coconut) Oil, Oriza Sativa (rice) Bran Oil, Olea Europea (olive) Leaf Extract, Carthamus Tinctorius (safflower) Euterpe Oleacera Pulp Oil, Orbingya Oleifera Seed Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (orange) Fruit Oil, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit, Dipteryx Odorata Seed Extract, Tocopherol. Paraben free.
Overall assessment: This is a gorgeous firm oil that has all of the benefits of a luxury face oil, but with a remarkably novel texture. Once you wrap your head around the idea that a firm oil is even possible, then you see that this beauty is a powerful contender in the realm of potent and highly effective face oil serums. This product, and this company should be on your radar. A+!

You find the best products. Or maybe it's just that you have a gift for enticing me. How strong is the fragrance of this and how long does it last?
ReplyDeleteWell, you know me and my crazy skincare obsession! The smell is not overpowering at all, and I find that it starts out smelling like Vanilla Planifolia, then fades to smelling sweet after about 30 seconds, and then fades away altogether once it has soaked into the skin. I also use a VERY small amount- so that makes the scent fade faster. I suspect that the scent would not bother you, but any scent might not make you happy. It does a remarkable job of deeply moisturizing the skin!
DeleteI love your blog. Just want to check with you how do you use bare love face oil. Do you apply it to clean face as a serum then follow with moisturizer. How do this oil compare to The organic pharmacy oil. Advice me as your skin care routine for the organic pharmacy line.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your very kind words-- I am thrilled that you love my blog! :-)
DeleteWhen I use Bare Love Beauty Luxury Skin Fuel I generally don't use any other serums or moisturizers because it is very rich and moisturizing- so my combination skin really doesn't require more moisture. I apply a TINY TINY TINY amount (because it is so concentrated) to freshly washed skin that is still warm and damp, and then I massage it into my face and neck. When I wake up the following morning my skin is luminous, soft and deeply moisturized.
My The Organic Pharmacy skincare routine on a daily basis includes using three of their serums, and least once a day. I tend to apply their Antioxidant Face Gel first (I have not yet reviewed it, but will very soon), then I massage in their Rose Plus Marine Collagen Complex, and then finally their Antioxidant Face Firming Serum (sometimes I switch the order of application, and sometimes I mix them in my hand and massage it into my face and neck. However, I tend to start with the lightest in texture and end with the heaviest- being their oil). The three are my Holy Trinity of anti-aging products, without question!
:-)
Thanks you so much for the reply. Do you prefer the organic pharmacy over the Bare Love oil. If you can advice me to as to which face cleanser brand do you prefer, I am looking for gentle face cleanser. Of all the face oil out there which are your 3 top choices. Which face oil do you use on a daily bases, which you prefer for the morning and which for the night?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely my pleasure! The Organic Pharmacy Face Firming Serum and the Bare Love Beauty Luxury Skin Fuel are too different to do an apples to apples comparison. Bare Love Beauty is a nighttime serum/oil whereas The Organic Pharmacy Oil is for day and night. If I had to choose one of the two only, I would choose The Organic Pharmacy since it's a heavy duty antioxidant anti-aging Oil that I can use any time of day. If I had to choose my top three oils right now at this very moment they would be (not in order of preference): 1) The Organic Pharmacy Face Firming Serum, 2) Aftelier Perfumes Rose Face Elixir with Sandalwood and Frankincense, and 3) Rodin Olio Lusso Luxury Face Oil. I use them interchangeably-- I use whichever strikes my fancy. The only one's that I use at night only are those designed for that purpose alone. Basically I choose my oils based upon mood more than anything.
DeleteMy favorite gentle- yet highly effective cleanser- is actually my very favorite cleanser, period. It is the Sponge Gel Katharistiko Wold Herb Cleanser. It is very gentle, but it thoroughly cleans the skin and leaves it so soft and supple that you feel as though you had just used a great serum! I'm just crazy about this stuff!
Here's my review:

Of course keep in mind that what works for me may not for you. What type of skin do you have and what are you looking for in skincare? :-)
I just found the cleanser for sale at the Dermstore, but it has a warning notation "WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer." So it looks like I need to find my next favorite cleanser-- or get more information about what this actually means!

My next favorite cleanser would have to be the Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel- It's non-foaming but it really does a beautiful job of cleaning the skin. The enzymes dissolve dead skin beautifully-- I find it gentle, but you might want to try a sample to see if it is gentle enough, and to your liking.

Once again thanks for your reply. I have combination skin and I look for anti aging skincare. Currently I use La mer skincare, but I just found out that Estee lauder bought La mer. So I am a little doubt on the quality of the skincare. Your reply is very helpful to me, I am greatly appreciate your reply.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely my pleasure!
DeleteWell, as you know- I also have combination skin and I always tend to be drawn in by antioxidant rich anti-aging products. The Organic Pharmacy products are highly effective and without all of the chemicals that one gets accustomed to slathering on their skin-- and these two things were high selling points for me. I haven't used anything from La Mer in a long time, but Estee Lauder bought La Mer back in 1995 from Max Huber's daughter after his death. So Lauder has been at the helm of La Mer for quite some time now. I don't really know anything about most of their products any more-- but I have liked some of the samples that I have tried since La Mer changed hands. The original cream is a little too rich for me though.
Keep me posted!!!
Thanks again for the reply. I have been using La Mer for the past 3 years. But now that I am getting older ( I am 42 now), I want to try more organic skincare like you said without the chemicals. Some thing that more gentle for the skin. I will give Organic Pharmacy a try to see how that go. What other moisturizer that you have try that is more organic without the chemicals, love to hear your suggestions.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure! I know just what you mean! I have been making a real effort to add many more natural products into my rotation for the same reason. Two of my favorite anti-aging lotion/creams are from Sponge Skincare: Their Krema Imeras Anti-aging day cream (Linden, Sage and Rosemary) and their Krema Niktas anti-aging night cream (St. Johns, Linden and Sage). Neither are completely chemical free, but they have fewer than others that I have used.

I will review both soon-- I have been meaning to for quite a while, and have had numerous requests.
In terms of truly natural anti-aging lotions I love and have used the Suki Facial Lift Ultimate Firming Cream: It's quite pricey, but it's amazing. Plus you been accustomed to paying La Mer prices-- so this won't cause you big time sticker shock. Here's my review:
http://www.lolassecretbeautyblog.com/2012/06/suki-facial-lift-ultimate-firming-cream.html

Thanks for the suggestions
ReplyDelete**If I night I use the Organics Pharmacy oil, gel, and Rose Plus complex, what would be a good moisturizer to follow.
**In the morning what face oil and serum and moisturizer would you suggest for me that are more natural than chemical.
*** When you use the Organics Pharmacy 3 serum together, do you also use another serum on top of that before the moisturizer.
Love the hear your suggestions, you are very helpful. I am greatly appreciate your reply.
My pleasure!
Delete1) Most often I find that I do not need an added moisturizer at night when I use The Organic Pharmacy Oil, Gel and Rose Plus Complex. Lately when I have been adding an additional moisturizer I have been using my beloved Sponge Krema Triantafillo (Rose + Sage Cream)- it's a longtime favorite for me. It's so soothing and has a lovely rose smell.
http://www.lolassecretbeautyblog.com/2013/06/sponge-krema-triantafillo-rose-sage.html
2) Lately I have been using The Organic Pharmacy Gel and Rose Plus Complex in the day as well, and either I use their oil, or one of my other favorite oils. Lately during the day I have been using either the Suki Facial Lift Ultimate Firming Cream- a lovely natural luxury cream.
http://www.lolassecretbeautyblog.com/2012/06/suki-facial-lift-ultimate-firming-cream.html
Or I have been using my Sponge Krema Niktas (their anti-aging day cream)- I will review it soon.
There are a few chemicals in some of the Sponge products, but none in the Suki Cream. I love and use both.
When I use The Organic Pharmacy serums together I definitely don't use any other serums-- I find them so effective that there is really no need. Sometimes I don't even bother with an additional moisturizer when I use the three together because they often offer me adequate moisture.
My approach to skincare (for my combination skin) really is all about observing what my skin needs at the moment, and choosing products to use accordingly. These products happen to work exceptionally well for me-- plus I feel good using effective antioxidant rich anti-aging products without lots of chemicals. I love these products because they work so well for me, but of course that doesn't mean that they will wow you the way that they do me. Keep me posted!
